It was an exciting weekend to see a “little something” unveiled at Dunning/Toni Stone Stadium. Central alumni, baseball Hall of Famer David Winfield (class of 1969), has an impressive new statute and was present for the unveil! Sculpture artist is Matt Glenn from Utah. The City of Saint Paul, in collaboration with the MN Twins, is working on additional improvements to the stadium that Central plays at and students pass by daily. More big changes are in the works for the Hall of Fame plaza and stadium so stay tuned. We appreciate our partners who make the grounds even better for the student experience and community. Big thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy Saturday morning and showed up for the annual Plant & Mulch Day! We planted a few new Prairie Fire Crabapple trees, flowers in the garden beds and spread wood mulch in the plaza area. Things are popping! Extra shout out to Naomi who single-handedly planted her first tree! We can’t wait to see it grow and blossom next spring. For anyone who still wants to lend a helping hand, a few Transforming Central members will be spreading any remaining mulch tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. in the east garden. Stop on by. 😎🪏

Planting season is here and we’re looking forward to the annual Plant & Mulch Day at Central! We’ll be meeting on the school plaza on Saturday, May 30 from 9-11:30 a.m. Please join us for this community event! All are welcome and students get easy volunteer hours. Just bring gloves; Transforming Central Committee will provide garden tools, flowers and trees to plant, and refreshments! SPPS Facilities and Grounds departments are partnering with us again this year and delivering mulch. We look forward to having many helping hands join us on May 30!
