Monroe County youth in our Agriculture in the Classroom program have been learning all about blueberries this month - how they grow, their uses, and their nutritional value.

Is your family growing blueberries in your garden this year? What is your favorite way to enjoy blueberries? Let us know in the comments below!

The Monroe County 4-H team welcomed Monroe County Executive Adam J. Bello as a guest reader in one of our first grade classrooms at Brooks Hill Elementary School today, as part of our Agriculture Literacy Month celebrations. This month, classrooms across New York State are reading "Seasons on the Farm" by Chelsea Tornetto, discovering how farms change with the seasons, as well as the various crops and animals raised on farms. We also designed a farm seasons wheel to show how farms shift with the seasons, and created seed necklaces to be able to watch our very own corn "crops" grow as we head into spring!

Thank you again to County Executive Bello for joining, us, and to New York Farm Bureau and New York Agriculture in the Classroom for supporting another exciting season of Ag Literacy Month! Stay tuned for more exciting updates from classrooms across Monroe County throughout the month!
