Our silent auction for A Toast to The Arc opens in full on Monday, October 12. Before then, we're giving you a first look at one very special item.
A Danelectro '59 Spruce F-Hole Electric Guitar (Model D59MSP), from the personal collection of Jack Allocco. Jack is a composer, a 12-time Emmy recipient and an inductee of the Rochester Music Hall of Fame.
This isn't the standard '59 reissue. The D59MSP has a solid spruce top, a semi-hollow body, the classic '59 Shorthorn shape, an offset F-hole and two signature '56 lipstick pickups. The result is the jangly, crystal-clear tone that has made this model a favorite for indie rock, jangle pop, surf and slide blues. It's also very light, so it's comfortable to play standing all night. Whether you play, collect, or just want a piece of music history from an Emmy-winning composer's own collection, this one is something special.
It also comes with a signed photo of Jack, a gig bag and a guitar stand. You'll get everything you need to take it home and start playing (or show it off) right away!
Thank you to Jack Allocco for donating such a meaningful piece of his collection to support The Arc and the people we support.
Thank you to John Dretto of Maestro Entertainment for arranging this donation. John, your kindness and your connections made this possible.
Thank you to the Steel Rail Revival for bringing us together. You've introduced us to so many amazing, generous people, and these friendships mean the world to us.
Mark your calendar: bidding opens Monday, 10/12. More amazing items are coming soon, so stay tuned!
