The Rochester Hispanic Business Association joins our community in mourning the passing of Luisa Baars, our 2024 Hispanic Business Person of the Year.

Luisa's impact extended far beyond her impressive list of accomplishments. As the founder of the Latino Rotary Club, she created opportunities for connection, leadership, service, and representation that will continue to benefit our community for years to come.

Many of us knew Luisa not only as a leader, but as a mentor and friend. She had a unique gift for encouraging others to step forward, use their talents, and lead in their own way. Her belief in people inspired countless individuals to become more involved in their businesses, organizations, and communities.

While her résumé reflected a life of remarkable achievement, those who knew her will remember her most for her generosity, her passion for service, and her unwavering commitment to uplifting others.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of leadership, mentorship, and community impact will not be forgotten.
