A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who joined us today! We officially installed permanent fencing at our Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) site. This is an exciting step forward for the Deaf Community Farm.

We’re looking forward to sharing more about this new site, for the Deaf Community farm and the impact this space will have for the Deaf community and food accessibility in Rochester. Stay tuned!

We were honored to welcome the Board of the National Association of the Deaf to the Deaf Community Food Pantry today and to share more about our work addressing hunger and food insecurity in the Deaf community. It was a valuable opportunity to show what this work looks like in practice and to have a meaningful conversation about why Deaf centered approaches to food access matter.

We are also grateful to Rochester School for the Deaf ( Rochester School for the Deaf ) for hosting the NAD Board for its meetings today. Wishing the Board all the best as it continues the important work of selecting the next CEO of NAD.

Congratulations to our very own Janeva Mosher on being honored with the Bruce R. James Award at the ceremony yesterday afternoon. Janeva got to met Shawna Lusk, a member of the RIT community who has been dedicated to the greater Rochester community as well.

Rochester Deaf Kitchen is beyond proud, and it was truly special for our team and board members to be there in support. Your dedication to the community continues to inspire us all, this recognition is incredibly well deserved.

Food insecurity is real & we will continue to fight for advocacy, inclusion, and access together.
