The Pathways to Prayer & Practice initiative invites congregations across the Diocese to explore how children can be more fully welcomed into the heart of worship. Through year-long learning cohorts, churches will have the opportunity to reflect, experiment, and grow in a supportive community of peers.

You don’t need a children’s choir, a full-time formation leader, or a large budget to be part of this work. Whether your church is already experimenting or just beginning to ask the questions, you are welcome here.

Right before four new priests were ordained in a bilingual celebration at St James's Episcopal Church in Richmond, the Rev'd Nancy Frausto reminded them of their sacred duty: 'writing that history and the future of this diocese! As the Diocese of Virginia continues the work of racial justice and healing, the new priests share responsibility for engaging voices that haven't been heard.

For 10 days in early August 2026, 11 young people from the Diocese of Virginia experienced an emotional, educational pilgrimage to Ghana that reshaped how they view history, faith, and human connection.
