This past Sunday, Pack 437 had an unforgettable and educational visit to the Henrico 911 Center 🚨

Scouts got a behind the scenes look at how 911 calls are handled and learned exactly what to do in an emergency situation. From start to finish, the group was engaged, curious, and full of great questions!

To top it off, the amazing 911 team sent everyone home with a special package including a coloring book and a safety vest.

Thank you to the dedicated professionals at the Henrico 911 Center for taking the time to teach and inspire the next generation of helpers in our community!

Photos from last Sunday’s Pinewood Derby! 🏁

Every car was completely unique, and it was so fun to see the creativity and imagination each Scout brought to their design. From sleek racers to bold and colorful builds, the creativity on display was incredible. Great job to all the Scouts who participated! 👏

Chag sameach!

As Purim begins, we extend warm wishes to our Scouting families who are celebrating this joyful and meaningful holiday. Purim commemorates courage, faith, and the triumph of hope in the face of adversity.

In Scouting, we value standing up for what is right, caring for our communities, and living with both bravery and joy. May this season be filled with celebration, generosity, and gratitude.

The National Jewish Committee on Scouting was officially formed in 1926, with roots going back to 1925 and leadership from figures like Dr. Cyrus Adler. In 2026, NJCOS will celebrate its 100th Anniversary.

Plans are underway for special events, programs, and commemorative items to honor a century of Jewish Scouting. Individuals and local committees are encouraged to get involved, host events, attend celebrations, and help raise awareness of Jewish Scouting in their communities.

Events, photos, and stories will be shared through the NJCOS website (https://www.jewishscouting.org/), email list, page, and YouTube channel. If you are interested in helping with planning or events, contact David Malatzky at [email protected].

Join us in celebrating 100 years of service, leadership, and community.

Happy first night!

🕎 Happy Hanukkah from the Heart of Virginia Council!

As the sun sets and our Scouting families begin the Festival of Lights, we honor the values of faith, tradition, and resilience that shine so brightly in this season. Scouting teaches us to be reverent, to respect and celebrate the beliefs of others while building a community where everyone feels welcome.

To all who are lighting candles, sharing blessings, and gathering with loved ones, we wish you warmth, joy, and peace throughout Hanukkah.

🌿 Pack 437 on Belle Isle!

Yesterday, our scouts spent the day picking up trash and hiking on beautiful Belle Isle. They learned the island’s rich history such as how Native American tribes used the island for fishing, Capt. John Smith’s 1607 expedition, and about its time as a nail factory and a Civil War POW camp.

🚴‍♂️💛 This weekend, Pack 437 stepped up to serve at the Heart of Virginia Bike Festival!

Our Scouts volunteered at a rest stop, cheering on riders and handing out snacks and drinks to support their ride. The festival raises funds for RABA’s Bikes for Kids program, which helps provide bikes to children in need.

Way to go, Scouts — living the values of service and community! 🙌💙
