‼️As a reminder, TODAY marks the first day of Amtrak's Pause For Progress, from Oct. 16th - 26th. Planned infrastructure upgrades south of Washington, DC’s Union Station will result in schedule adjustments impacting service. 🚝

Happy Indigenous People's Day! We would like to recognize & honor all of the tribes who continue to enrich our communities and culture.

We would like to recognize & honor the Mattaponi, the Upper Mattaponi, the Pamunkey Tribe, the Chickahominy, the Eastern Chickahominy, the Rappahannock, the Nansemond, the Monacan, the Cheroenhaka, the Nottoway, and the Patawomeck, as well as tribes that have not yet been federally recognized.

Virginians for High Speed Rail (VHSR) mourns the passing of James E. “Jim” Ukrop, one of our organization’s founders and its first co-chair.
Jim helped establish Virginians for High Speed Rail and served as its first co-chair before VHSR became an independent nonprofit organization in 1999. His vision, leadership, and steadfast commitment to improving passenger rail helped lay the foundation for nearly three decades of progress across the Commonwealth.
