🎬 We screen short dance films (15 minutes max) that expand the evolving definitions of "dance" and "choreography," including films using animation, computer graphics, puppetry & beyond.

Take your dance film on the road! Submit your short dance film for the ninth season of ScreenDance RoadShow, the only traveling dance film series in New England showcasing contemporary choreography for the camera.

🎬 Deadline is August 3, 2026: https://motionstatearts.org/call-for-films

🎬 We invite filmmakers to submit short films (15 minutes max) in which dance and cinematography play equal creative roles. We explore the ever-expanding definitions of "dance" and "choreography," and are open to including films that use adjacent technologies, such as animation, computer graphics and puppetry.

🎬 Each season, a diverse program of dance films from around the world are screened at venues across the region. Past venues have included: Colby College (ME); Dean College (MA); Jamestown Arts Center (RI); Newport Art Museum (RI); Providence Public Library (RI); School for Contemporary Dance & Thought (MA); The Redfern Arts Center (NH); Trinity College (CT); Zeiterion Performing Arts Center (MA); and more.

Moving and dancing and learning together is a beautiful thing. Thanks to everyone who joined in this past weekend for our annual slate of classes held during FringePVD!

Big thanks to the oustanding teachers—Ana Harmon, Colin Stilwell, Darnell "Snoopy" Brown, Jessica Howard, Robbie Cook and Heidi Henderson—the enthusiastic students, our hosts at Ballet RI, and The Wilbury Theatre Group, producers of FringePVD.
