Recovery needs a place to call home.

Recovery housing gives people a safe, substance-free home and housemates who understand. It’s often the bridge between crisis or treatment and an independent life.

As Rhode Island’s affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, RICARES certifies recovery homes across the state, so residents, families, and providers can trust the homes they rely on. We also support operators and advocate for fair treatment of recovery residences, so they can stay in the neighborhoods where recovery happens.

You're Invited: A Spooktacular Halloween Celebration with RICARES & Empowerment Factory!

Something spooky is brewing at RICARES, and you're invited!

October 29th, Thursday, 6- 8 p.m

RICARES is teaming up with Empowerment Factory to host a substance-free, family-friendly Halloween party to celebrate the sponsors and volunteers who make our work possible. Your generosity and time keep our recovery community thriving, and this is our way of saying thank you.

The party is open to the public, so bring the kids, bring your friends, and come celebrate the season with us. And our office is getting a haunted makeover for the occasion!

But peers need support too: pathways into the field, training, fair pay, and a professional community that has their back. That’s why RICARES invests in Rhode Island’s peer workforce, from internships and certification support to RIPRPA, the state’s professional association for peer recovery specialists.
