His work includes “Feral,” which premiered at Sundance and was nominated for best animated short film at the 86th Academy Awards, “Feral,” which won awards at festivals around the world, and “Native Stories,” nationally broadcast on PBS. We'd like to give a big shout out to the Cleveland International Film Festival for featuring Manya Glassman's unforgettable short film "How I Learned to Die" as part of their 50th Edition! Paul Sloop, the festival's program director, and his team put together an amazing festival this year. Bravo to everyone for a job well done!

"How I Learned to Die" was shot entirely in Rhode Island and was Executive Produced by Spike Lee. The film was featured as part of our Opening Night last year at Flickers and went on to win our Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film. The film has had a wonderful festival run thus far, and we'd like to congratulate Manya and her talented team for their continued success!

Manya is a longtime alumni of Flickers, so its a true joy to see her work championed and celebrated by our greater festival community. The film had its world premier at Tribeca and has also been featured at Santa Fe International Film Festival and Woodstock Film Festival!
