It’s a place where our democracy is inclusive and accessible, and our communities are strong and resilient. If we amplify young people’s voices toward collective action, shift power, broaden the leadership pipeline, and address the structural barriers that our generations are navigating, we’ll build a more inclusive movement for a just democracy. unfortunately, despite this process going through December, there is no longer opportunity for public comment… BUT! we encourage you all to attend Wednesday’s (8/12) City Council meeting @ 9:30 AM, where they will vote on the final term sheet 🫡

we want to thank Councilor Candace Avalos Councilor Mitch Green Councilor Angelita Morillo Councilor Koyama Lane Councilor Steve Novick & Sameer Kanal for submitting and voting in favor of amendments to fight for the best deal for the city 🤝

to celebrate the final week of our community organizing cohort (🥲), our ‘26 team got to learn about policy design & how to set up a political campaign from our Advocacy Director, Sol.✨

they then worked together to craft their own organizing strategies based on the issues that matter most to them! 📣

since we first endorsed them back in 2024, Councilor Angelita Morillo Tiffany Koyama Lane & Mitch Green have consistently proven their commitment to empowering youth voices. that’s why Next Up Action Fund proudly endorses the re-election of Angelita Morillo and Tiffany Koyoma Lane for Portland City Council District 3, and Mitch Green for Portland City Council District 4. 🗳️✅

It’s official! The Your Two Cents PDX initiative will be on Portland ballots THIS November 2026 🥳💗

Portlanders, this is OUR opportunity to have a direct say in how local dollars are used by the people, and for the people ✨ No politicians, no lobbyists, just YOU 🗣️

Next Up Action Fund has been thrilled to help collect signatures for this effort. We’ve been talking to community members about what this would mean for them.

Greener neighborhoods, accessible parks, safer streets? These projects and more would be possible if Portland voters say YES to having a direct say in how Portland spends 2% of the budget this fall.

you should apply to join Next Up’s Community Action Team! ⚡️

this yearlong, paid cohort—made up of about 16+ community members—seeks to expand Next Up’s base of young leaders, execute grassroots projects, and make tangible change in Oregon’s communities.

🤍 $23/hour, up to 12 hours a month.

🌈 this program will run from October 2026 to June 2027.
