Earlier this year, Jasper joined our team as a success advising specialist with rich experience in college access and persistence work.

Their previous roles as an AmeriCorps coach at College Possible and a college coach at Beyond12 highlight their long-term commitment to student-centered advising. In and out of the office, Jasper is passionate, thoughtful, and intentional.

Happy College Decision Day!🎓

Today marks a milestone as students take a leap forward and commit to the next chapter of their higher education journey. We couldn't be prouder as we look back on everything they did to get here.

We're honored to serve Oregon students because we get to support them with the college admissions process, and be there during the smaller, meaningful moments along the way. Like when students excitedly walk into a dorm room for the first time during a campus tour or when they ask questions like, "What do you need to live on your own?"

This week's campus visit at Willamette University was filled with moments like these while students toured campus, connected with admissions counselors and shared conversations in the dining hall. Cheers to the Class of 2026 and all the students working their way toward a bright future.🎉

The moment Julia began her own higher education journey, she was determined to become the mentor she wished she had in high school.

When she wasn't in class, Julia mentored students as an orientation leader, academic facilitator and senior peer leader. Now, she’s an access advising specialist supporting students at Gresham and Reynolds high schools.

Though it’s a student’s own tenacity and passion that earns a degree, advising specialists ensure that students have someone in their corner rooting for them and their dreams. Discover some of the aspirations College Possible seniors are currently working toward with Julia’s guidance below. ⬇️

“I can’t emphasize how important it is that youth are at the center of decision-making. What I see is that youth have something to say even when they don’t know how to say it,” says Xavier.

From a young age, he has carried a deep sense of justice that motivates him to take action and stand up for others. Today, that same passion fuels his mission of empowering youth to help shape decisions that affect their lives.

As he prepares to begin at Reed College, Xavier continues to champion various youth-led initiatives that are creating meaningful change in his community. Find out what they are by reading his story below.
