Respiratory illness season is here. 🍂

Influenza and other respiratory illnesses can be much more serious than many people realize, particularly for older adults, young children, pregnant individuals, and people with chronic medical conditions. While no vaccine is perfect, flu vaccination remains one of the best tools we have to reduce severe illness, hospitalization, and disruptions to our families, workplaces, and communities.

If vaccination is right for you, talk with your health care provider about getting your flu shot and staying up to date on recommended vaccines this fall.

A significant traffic disruption that will be happening soon in the Portland metro area. Beginning Friday, September 11, all southbound lanes of I-5 through the Rose Quarter will be closed for up to five weeks while ODOT completes critical roadway repairs and safety improvements. Significant traffic delays and longer travel times are expected throughout the region during this closure.

Are you or your family worried about paying for food? You're not alone.

It can be hard to stay healthy when you don't have enough food at home.

That's why Health Share of Oregon works with partners like Willow to help eligible members get extra support through Oregon's Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) nutrition benefits.

Recently, two Health Share members facing health and housing challenges were connected to Willow. Both were approved and were quickly able to purchase healthy food at local stores using a digital benefit card.

At Health Share, we know that healthy food is an important part of staying healthy. We're working with community partners to help make it easier for members to get the food and support they need.
