🚂 Join Us at East Portland Sunday Parkways on June 28! 🚂
The Friends of the Washington Park & Zoo Railway are excited to be participating in our first Sunday Parkways event, and we'd love your help!

We're looking for volunteers to help staff our booth throughout the day. No experience is needed—we'll provide everything you need. It's a fun way to meet fellow supporters, talk with community members, and share the story of the historic Zoo Railway and the effort to restore the Rose Garden Loop.

Not interested in volunteering? Come visit us! Stop by our booth to learn more about the project, sign up for updates, and share your favorite Zoo Train memories.

🐾 Rumor has it that our favorite canine railway ambassador, Gill, and his handler, Dan, may be stopping by, too!

📅 Sunday, June 28
⏰ 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
📍 East Portland Sunday Parkways (booth location coming soon)

We are incredibly honored to share that Council Vice President Clark highlighted the Friends of the Washington Park & Zoo Railway in her latest District 4 newsletter. Even better? She is backing that support with a generous $15,000 sponsorship directly toward our Phase 1 feasibility analysis!

Leaders across Portland are recognizing that restoring this historic loop is a sound investment for our community. This $15,000 investment brings us a huge step closer to unlocking our $50,000 Metro matching grant.

When our community and our elected leaders align, we can achieve incredible things. Please join us in sending a huge thank you to Council Vice President Clark for championing our heritage rails!

We had a grand time at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center with Melissa Darby and her talk on the "Biggest Little Railway in the Country". About 70 people were in attendance. We were tickled to see Will K. with his photo of him as a little boy gazing seriously at the Zooliner as it rounded the bend. It was a wonderful evening.
