You've likely seen the news that IP 28 has surpassed the minimum signature threshold required to qualify for the November ballot.

This means continued proactive voter education will be essential.

Fortunately, anglers understand preparation, persistence, and patience.

Those same qualities will guide our efforts moving forward.

IP 28 cleared the signature threshold for November’s ballot. Defeating it will take a united effort. Partners statewide are sharing clear, factual info.

Building Stronger Fisheries and Communities

The Association of Northwest Steelheaders is proud to announce the release of our 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year of advocacy, education, volunteerism, and community impact across the Pacific Northwest.

This report reflects the dedication of our members, volunteers, chapter leaders, partners, and supporters who continue to stand up for healthy fisheries, public access, and the future of recreational angling. Together, our volunteers contributed more than 14,600 hours supporting fishing education programs, hatchery operations, river access projects, youth outreach, veteran fishing events, and conservation advocacy efforts throughout the region.

We’re saddened to hear of the passing of Grant McOmie—a true champion for the outdoors and a familiar voice to generations across the Pacific Northwest.

Through Grant’s Getaways, he inspired countless people to explore, appreciate, and protect the wild places that define our region. His storytelling helped connect communities to the rivers, forests, and fisheries we all care so deeply about.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his work. His legacy will continue on every trail, every cast, and every adventure he encouraged.

He told the stories of the Northwest, and inspired people to "get out there" and explore it. Grant McOmie, the award-winning journalist behind Grant’s Getaways on KGW, has died: https://www.kgw.com/article/news/local/grant-mcomie-dead-grants-getaways-outdoor-reporter-kgw/283-17aa6f73-50dd-42de-8832-e997c3e2f35d?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KGW-TV
