The Wetlands Conservancy

The Wetlands Conservancy We are the voice of Oregon's wetlands. We protect, preserve and restore wetlands throughout the state.

Wetlands are vital to our community’s health and the health of our environment. They clean and recharge our water supply, provide critical fish and wildlife habitat, and protect our communities from floods. Today The Wetlands Conservancy owns and manages 32 preserves and more than 1,500 acres across Oregon.

Behind shopping malls and office parks, next to highways and near airports, urban wetlands are little glimmers of the natural world. 💚

Do you share our vision?

In our ideal future, Oregon’s wetlands thrive. They are protected across the state, people understand their function and value, and the benefits of wetlands are equitably shared by all Oregonians. To realize this vision, The Wetlands Conservancy works collaboratively with communities across the state to:

🔵 Protect wetlands directly through a range of conservation strategies.
🔵 Build awareness of the value of wetlands through education, outreach, and experiences.
🔵Catalyze action by members of the public through community science.
🔵Push for sound conservation policy and funding to protect wetlands.

Registration is now open for the 2026 Beaver Survey season! Once trained, YOU can search for beaver activity in creeks and wetlands. These surveys help map current beaver activity and identify future targets for beaver restoration. ⬆️🔗www.wetlandsconservancy.org/upcoming-events
