This months Microcinema is a screening of 'places in pieces vol. 4' by Jason Pappariella. Jason is a visiting artist and will be in person for a Q&A following the screening.

‘places in pieces vol. 4’ picks up where the series left off in 2011, as a non-narrative regionally focused meditation. This installment makes its way across Eastern and Central Europe, moth tracking from the Baltics to the Balkans, fluttering about the Caucasus region.

Register today for this June 1st screening.

Join us for the second iteration of the Open Signal Microcinema!

We will be screening Guardian of the Land by LaRonn Katchia and scenes from the upcoming feature documentary Our Fire by Galen McCaw.

Guardian of the Land is a short film where cultural and community leaders of Nch'i-Wána (or Columbia River) tribes share perspectives and oral histories on America's most famous cryptid-Bigfoot, as a spiritual being that teaches one to enter into a relationship with the land.

Our Fire is an upcoming feature documentary which follows Klamath Tribal member Anna Merritt in her work to bring cultural fire back to life. Working alongside the Klamath Tribes Natural Resource Department the project explores land management, cultural revitalization, and first foods.

Register today through the link below for this special screening on Monday, April 27th!

Spring time is hear!

We’re introducing new classes open to anyone who wants to build confidence with media production tools and explore their creativity (no Orientation or membership required). These classes focus on the fundamentals of media production.

To expand access and sustain our programs for years to come, we are introducing class fees. These new classes are $30 per session. Every class reserves seats for those who aren't able to make a financial contribution, so no one is turned away for lack of funds

Please email education [@] opensignalpdx.org to request a class voucher.
