We are now officially 22 days away from The Active Wipeout and the staff is practically BUZZING with excitement!

It takes so much work to put on a events like this, let alone with a small (but mighty) crew. All the behind the scenes planning and logistics over months between staff and partners, if done right, creates a pretty special day for all of us.

This event welcomes people of all ages to test their skills on our INFLATEABLE OBSTACLE COURSES in the heart of Portland!

On June 20th, 2026 we’re partnering with and to host The Active Wipeout!!!

Participants of all ages will have the opportunity practice their racing skills on two inflatable obstacle courses before competing for the fastest time and to be crowned 👑 The Active Wipeout Champion 👑

✨Coach-Mentor Highlight: Coach Patricia✨

We are lucky to have 10-16 coaches each season providing programming for our youth across Portland & Gervais. We wanted to highlight Coach Patricia this month as one of our incredible returning coach-mentors!

•Why did you choose to work at ACP?🧐

”I am working to become a middle school teacher and I have always loved coaching. I saw the opportunity to bring the joy of sports to more kids and I couldn’t help but become a part of ACP!”

•What’s a motivational reminder or words of encouragement you use with youth? 💡

“Positive self talk is so important to me! Some of my favorites are, “choose kindness” and, “you are so strong”. Overall I run by a motto that if students can’t tell themselves that they are smart, kind, and strong, I will tell them everyday until they believe it. It’s my job to make them feel like every accomplishment or goal they reach, big or small, is huge and super important!”

Storytime Friday: To Play or Not to Play? 🎭

We’re not just a soccer organization! This winter, one of our middle school programs participated in our Theater Movement Curriculum that included putting on a play written by one of the students!! 🤩

We love that ACP after-school programs can be a place of exploration and creativity.
