In February, we welcomed 30 incredible students with a passion for pursuing careers in healthcare into the PWA Healthcare Fellows Program.🩺❤️

From CPR training, professional certifications to volunteering experiences and career exploration, our fellows have been building skills, and taking meaningful steps towards their futures in healthcare. We are so proud of all they've accomplished so far and can't wait to see where their journeys take them!

Earlier this month, invited PWA students to join a collaborative space where youth, families, educators, architects, and community members gave input and imagined what welcoming and inclusive schools look like. 🏫💫

PWA’s Creative Careers Summer Mentorship wrapped up last Thursday with a talented cohort of high school students interested in pursuing a career in the creative industry! Throughout the week, the students visited various creative design and ad agencies across Portland.✨

Through pitching creative marketing campaigns, participating in Q&A panels with industry leaders, and networking with creative professionals, students gained valuable insights and inspiration about what a career in the creative industry could look like.📸🎨

“This program has been so fun and engaging! I feel more certain about what I want to do in my future – I am so thankful for this opportunity,” said a Reynolds High School student.

Our 2nd annual Construction Mentor Program wrapped a couple weeks ago with a strong cohort of high school students interested in electrical and the trades!💡

Through hands-on activities, site tours, career-skills building, and networking with construction professionals, students were able to get an inside look on what a career in the industry would look like. 👷🏾‍♀️🔨

"I loved this program," one student said, "I lived learning about different jobs and what people do."

A look into this year's Summer Career Academy! ✨

This June, an incredible group of female and gender-expansive students came together at Parkrose Middle School and built job readiness skills, explored new opportunities, and connect with professionals from across our community.

"I felt like a new person,” shared one student participant, “I feel like I opened new ideas, and everyone was so nice!"
