“My name is Mwesigye Vincent, and I have worked with Africa New Life Ministries for the past seven years as a Child Development Officer in Nyamirama, Rwanda.

To me, child sponsorship means everything. It is about changing the lives of children and transforming families for generations to come.

This work is not always easy. There are many challenges that come with walking closely alongside children and families, but we never give up on them because we believe there is hope for every child.

That belief pushes us to encourage, support, and care for students every single day.

One of the moments that encouraged me most happened last year when one of our sponsored students became one of the top performers in Rwanda on the Primary Leaving Exams (PLE), the national exams students take before entering secondary school.

Moments like that remind us why this work matters. They remind us that when children are surrounded by opportunity, encouragement, faith, and education, lives can truly change.”

Marie Rose once sat in this classroom as a student, unsure of what the future might hold.

Before joining the New Life Women’s Development Program, Marie Rose worked long hours doing small jobs just to survive. Opportunities were limited, and daily life often felt uncertain. But she came to the sewing program with hope and kept showing up, even when learning was difficult.

Over time, her confidence grew. She discovered she could create, provide, and build a future that once felt out of reach.

Now she is helping other women do the same.

When Eric was six years old, his father enrolled him in school, hoping it would open the door to a better future.

But like many families, the cost of education quickly became too much. His father worked at a petrol station. His mother took on tailoring jobs when she could. Still, it was not enough to keep Eric in school.

That’s when Africa New Life connected Eric with a sponsor.

“I still remember the feeling,” Eric says. “It was a great moment for my family.”

For a time, Eric was able to stay in school and keep moving forward. But later, he lost his sponsor.

It could have been the end of his story.

Instead, Africa New Life stepped in and covered his education, making sure he could continue learning while a new sponsor was found.

Not long after, Sharon and Mike came into his life.

Earth Day looks a little different in Rwanda.

It looks like clean streets cared for by entire communities.
It looks like neighbors showing up each month to serve side by side.

In Rwanda, this rhythm is called Umuganda. On the last Saturday of every month, people across the country step away from their normal routines to clean neighborhoods, plant trees, and care for the places they live.

And that commitment does not stop there. Rwanda has become a leader in conservation and sustainability.

Plastic bags have been banned nationwide for years. Communities are actively reforesting hills and protecting natural ecosystems. National parks like Nyungwe Forest National Park are preserved with care, helping protect biodiversity that impacts the world beyond its borders.

In Rwanda, caring for the earth is not just a moment. It is a rhythm of life.

And it is a reminder that when people come together with shared purpose, even small acts can shape something beautiful.

Today, we celebrate the beauty of Rwanda and the example it sets for all of us. 🌍

25 years ago, we took a step of faith… not knowing all that God would do.

Today, we are still walking that same journey. And we are still seeing Him move.

When one life is lifted, families are strengthened.
