And then there were 3! Barney (far right) has been adopted! He joins alumni Samson and Pearl and it was the perfect fit. As many as you remember, Barney’s male owner passed away, and he instantly loved his new dad, Lowell, and mom, Abbe. They now have 3 happy go lucky pups who get to go to work with mom at her salon. Happy tails, Barney!

Today marks the start of our t-shirt fundraiser as we have so many dogs entering the rescue and need to raise money for their vet care!

We have 4 super soft glidan shirt options you can pre-order, and either pick up for free at Rock Creek Country Club on the west side of town, or have shipped to you. Each shirt raises $10-12 for a dog that needs vet care. All shirts are unisex and available in sizes XS-2XL. Happy shopping!

Please give a warm welcome to (nearly) 3 year old Kona! He came to us via an Oregon shelter where he had been returned for some bad habits such as nipping children, leash reactivity, topped off with lots of general barking. Luckily, this guy is a lover, not a fighter. He was great with doxie dad Tony, who picked him up from the shelter and got him to us. He also is great with other dogs and definitely loves dog-oriented people. We will start working on his leash manners and barking, and report back soon. Welcome, Kona!

We have another adoption announcement today, and it’s for Trout! He came into the rescue paralyzed after an acute injury. It took a little while, but he finally started pushing off in his back legs. He was zooming around shortly after that, just somewhat like a drunken sailor. He started laser/acu/hydrotherapy and his gait improved, but wasn’t perfect. Enter Monica. We had posted a tribute to the other IVDD dog she had adopted from us (Woody). It was a sudden and heart breaking loss and our hearts hurt for her. She contacted us about Trout, and while we knew anyone who meets him would fall in love, we weren’t sure if she was ready to adopt again, with another dog with a back injury. But she was, and he filled a special place in her and her partner’s hearts, as well as Trout’s former canine brother. We couldn’t be happier for everyone involved and are so thrilled Trout found a great home with her. Happy Tails, sweet Trout!

Rigsby here to tell you that my foster parents realized they couldn’t give me up once the team started reviewing adoption applications. Can you blame them? I’m pretty perfect! We took a trip to celebrate my adoption and I just wanted to let you all know how happy I am! Celebrate with me 🎉👏🏻🍾 and drop me a line to let them know how cute I am!

Please welcome new arrivals Pizza and Pretzel! Thank you to sisters and angels Madison and Hanna for flying to get them (check out stories to see them)! Today we are fundraising for not only their spays, lab work and vaccines, but the care of the additional 6 dogs that entered our care within the last week: Honey, Blackjack, Addie, Louie, Carlos and Norm. Most of these dogs will need dentals and labs. Luckily, at 1.5 years old, Pizza and Pretzel have great teeth! We appreciate any $ that can be spared for the care of these eight dogs, no matter how small. If you can’t donate at the moment, we also appreciate sharing this post! We will have an online auction starting soon, as well as a t-shirt fundraiser, so please also watch for those! Welcome, sweet girls!

Little Fiona is now 6 months old and is still looking for her perfect for home. She is still sassy, sweet and cuddly. She loves to come to work with foster mom or stay home and cuddle with her foster sibling. She is due to be groomed soon as she hates it when we cut her nails. This girl would love a forever home with a securely fenced yard, a playmate and a home without young kids as she’s so small and could easily break a limb.

Everyone please give a warm welcome to Honey the frenchie. We weren’t planning on taking her in yesterday, but another dog that was supposed to come cancelled, so we think we can take her case on. She is roughly 3 years old and in heat at the moment, and skips on one of her back legs(so we will check the ligaments/joints/knee). We are looking for a foster for her, but she’s temporarily safe with a team member. This girl needs slow introductions with relaxed small dogs that aren’t too in her face. She is people friendly and previously lived with a child. Welcome, Honey!

Everyone please give a warm welcome to six month old black and tan puppy, Blackjack! You can see him playing with foster brother and alum Xander. We weren’t planning on getting him, but what an adoptable puppy! There’s a chance his foster may adopt based on how well he is getting along with his foster brother, but if not we will list this boy once he’s been to our vet for an exam. Welcome, Blackjack!
