Elevate Youth offices and programs will be closed on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.

On June 19th, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger led Union troops into Galveston Bay, Texas, where they announced that all Black Americans were free by executive decree. Despite the Emancipation Proclamation being signed in 1863, not all Black Americans were freed from slavery until June 19th, 1865.

This year, in 2026, we’re honoring and celebrating those who fought and struggled to build a better future. We’re continuing their legacy by keeping a hand outstretched to our community. Elevate Youth uplifts traditionally overlooked school districts and stays plugged into our community, providing support and a safe space for kids wherever we can.

Congratulations to Elevate Executive Director, Donell Morgan, for receiving a community leadership award from Vancouver Public Schools! Donell was recognized by Bill Oman, Executive Director of Schools and Learning for VPS, for his outstanding leadership within Elevate. With Donell at the helm, Elevate has expanded across northeast Portland and Vancouver. Over the past 10 years, Donell has worked tirelessly to expand our services, provide direction, and forge community connections. Donell has truly embedded Elevate into kids' lives, ensuring a safe and compassionate space for them.

🌱🥕Elevate youth are getting down 'n' dirty at Margaret Scott Elementary's student garden! Elevate students got their very own bed. They've filled it with red carrots and purple potatoes, plus more still to come! Our kids are learning so much from Margaret Scott's gardening teacher, appreciating the earth while demonstrating long-term planning skills, patience, and creativity. 🌻

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from the Elevate family! We want to take this special time to recognize our Teacher-Mentors for all the work they do. Our organization runs because of our Teacher-Mentors. Their passion, caring, and creativity bring life to Elevate. Our youth get to have unforgettable experiences and a strong foundation for their futures because of their Teacher-Mentors. As part of our wrap-around practice, these Teacher-Mentors keep up with kids from third to 12th grade, ensuring they have the resources and support they need in school.

Elevate is so proud of Jamia's achievement, and we're delighted to recognize her superb intellect and determination in her studies.
