Join us at Ikoi no Kai for a Tsukemono workshop, where you’ll learn a brief history of Tsukemono in Japanese culture and practice three simple pickling techniques. You’ll leave with delicious homemade tsukemono to take home and enjoy!

This workshop is open to all levels. Our goal is to bring the Japanese community together through food, in a welcoming and fun focused environment. Hope to see you there on Saturday!

In preparation for Obon fest this weekend, Ikoi no Kai will be holding Yukata day this Thursday, July 30! Diners who join us for lunch that day wearing their Yukata will dine for free! Come join us and bring the Obon spirit!

Today we served Chilled Pork Shabu Shabu Udon by Chef Naomi and our Monday crew of volunteers. It was served with tempura enoki, braised eggplant and topped with daikon oroshi and fresh shiso! A delicious dish for a warm day!

We’ll be at Fuji to Hood a Japan/Oregon collaboration festival this Saturday, 7/18 at the Redd in Portland (831 SE Salmon St).

We’ll have katsu sandos (tofu katsu and tonkatsu) and onigiri krispy treats for sale. All sandwich and treat sales will benefit the Ikoi no Kai Community Lunch Program. Come say hi and support us!

Minors and non-drinkers/designated drivers are free. Fuji to Hood is all-ages friendly.
