"In my culture, the mom sits here at the head of the table, in the seat of honor."

My breath caught, humbled and honored as King gave up his seat and asked me to move to the head of the table. I'm not entirely sure what I expected when we set out in the hope of meeting our sponsor kids of 10 years, but it definitely wasn't this.

King told us towards the end of that first week, "This week, I felt like I was with my parents again." And again my breath was cut short, in total humility, to hear what this time together had meant to him, and I realized it did to us too...........................................................................

The Lahash East Africa team hosted a community stone-laying celebration for the new Blakeman Center being built in Kenya!

This space will be used for discipleship and training for men and women, and hopefully the future home of Lahash conferences. Named in honor of former staff member Clark Blakeman, this center will carry forward his vision and passion to see leaders formed, trained, and empowered to lead and impact their communities.
