📖 MFS moves lives forward by connecting dedicated volunteers to children in 8 Portland metro area schools.

MFS/AARP Foundation Experience Corps volunteers work 1:1 with students to increase reading fluency and comprehension. The results? Two thirds of students read more words correctly; and meet or exceed benchmarks. AND 96% of tutors said the program gives them an increased sense of purpose.

Thanks to the generosity of JCPenney shoppers through the store-based donation drive, students at Greenway Elementary and Raleigh Hills Elementary received brand-new school supplies to begin the year with confidence and the tools they need to thrive.

🥦MFS moves lives forward through critical hunger relief programs -- because when people have access to nutritious food, they have a stronger foundation for health, stability, and connection.

Through food distribution (over 600,000 lbs a year through 5 pantries!) and connections to additional resources, MFS supports children and families in meeting immediate needs and building pathways toward long-term well-being.
