On Friday April 10th the Gresham Police Department parades through town to each of the businesses that participate in their "Adopt-a-Cop" program. The Village has adopted officers Ted and Martin and we are usually the first stop on the parade route. We began gathering on the front porch of our main building at 10AM and distributed signs, flags, and bubbles. By the time the Gresham Police drove through our campus we had doubled in number. The officers always stop, get out of their vehicles to speak with us, show us their vehicles and their K-9 and engage in a mutual appreciation exchange with the officers and residents both saying how much they value and appreciate each other. This year the GPD ended the parade at Main Street City Park where people can spend more time talking and getting photo opportunities.

We go out to dinner (or breakfast or lunch) two to four times a month.) We have our favorite places but also love trying new places that our residents recommend to us. On Tuesday March 24th we went to Wan Lung in Happy Valley (it is on Sunnyside Road) and we were all impressed with the vast amount of food we were served. Definitely will go back again!

The first photo here looks like people sitting in chairs, doesn't it? That is not what was happening at all! This was the "dugout" for the team the "Yankees" when we played bean-bag baseball on Tuesday March 10th. The "Yankees" one won game and "The All Stars" won the second game and quite frankly we all has exercised ourselves enough that we did not play a tie-breaker.

On March 5th we tried out a new game, "Farkle." Here are photos of people farkling:

On Tuesday February 24th we played "Village Family Feud" and it was a fun for team members and the audience alike. In April the team that won this past Tuesday ("The A Team", who played against "Guys and Dolls") will play against a brand new team. In January the residents had been polled to provide questions and answers that we can use during the game. Additional questions and answers on The Bible and Easter were pulled from the internet. In the photos "The A Team" is the five person team consisting of four women and one man.
