Now that it is getting chillier outdoors we are adding more indoor activities to our schedule. "Pizza and Trivia" night last Thursday, September 24th, was well attended; we had 33 people for pizza and 30 of those people stayed for Trivia. It's team play and the theme was music/movies/tv from the 50's-70's. It's always silly and fun and a bit competitive. We decided that our next set of trivia topics will be cars from the 50's, teenage heart throbs and child actors, and medical tv shows.

Just this last Tuesday, September 22nd, a group of us did "The Fruit Loop," which is driving all the way around Mt. Hood. We went up highway 26, went North on 35 into Hood River, stopped at a Farmer's Market/barn, went to Panorama Point, then ate lunch on the Columbia at The Riverside. The last leg of the trip was coming home on I-84. It was just a beautiful trip!

There was a Shari's located one block away from the Village and it's too bad it closed. Over the past year and a half we have all been watching and waiting for the restaurant to become something else. In July it opened as "Huckleberry's" and we have waited for the crowds to die down a bit before we try it out. On September 15th we went and it was fabulous! Good prices for huge servings and the staff was attentive, making sure our waters and drinks were filled and that we had everything we needed. Definitely a thumbs up.

Once a month we play new games that involve pool noodles, ping pong balls, cups, and other odd objects. On September 4th we played "air hockey."

The Village has a very well attended outdoor concert with a boxed supper at the end of the Summer. "The Hijinks" is the band that we like to have play for us. The weather this year, on September 10th, was perfect! Not too hot and sunny and no rain. It even felt a bit chilly as the evening drew to a close.

On September 8th we did a grown up version of "Show and Tell," where people can bring out memorabilia or collections or samples of the art that they create. It's wonderful to see people in a new light when they share this part of themselves.

On Labor Day the resident Villagers held a potluck to celebrate!

On Tuesday August 25th a group of us went east toward Mt. Hood and walked/hiked through the Wildwood Recreation area. We saw wildflowers, the underwater viewing area ("Cascade Stream Watch"), and plenty of lush green plants everywhere. Once we worked up an appetite we went to The ZigZag Inn for an early dinner and ended our day with ice cream treats at the Rhododendron Dairy Queen
