Wednesday August 12th we had a concert put on by our chime choir. Every week a mix of residents, non-residents, and our chime choir Maestro (Mick Turner) practice songs on the chimes. Each quarter we get to hear a concert from them and it is lovely.

Today was our Special Dinner of the month, a County "Flair" Corn Feed. Fried chicken (veggie chicken as well), corn on or off the cob, biscuits and honey, baked beans, potato salad, fruit cup and ice cream cones. A lemonade stand with optional flavors (watermelon, raspberry, peach and huckleberry) was set up as well. People could sit outside or inside but the weather was perfect for a picnic!

The residents of The Village put on their own Fourth of July BBQ and potluck. Along with grilled hot dogs (compliments of organizer and grillmaster Don McClure) there was a variety of home-made side dishes and desserts. Over 100 people came for the party!

This year our annual Strawberry Feed was held earlier than usual. The warm winter and spring made berries and blooms have a shorter season than normal.

On Wednesday June 3rd there were 14 volunteers from The Village who prepped many, many strawberries for the annual Strawberry feed.

On Friday April 10th the Gresham Police Department parades through town to each of the businesses that participate in their "Adopt-a-Cop" program. The Village has adopted officers Ted and Martin and we are usually the first stop on the parade route. We began gathering on the front porch of our main building at 10AM and distributed signs, flags, and bubbles. By the time the Gresham Police drove through our campus we had doubled in number. The officers always stop, get out of their vehicles to speak with us, show us their vehicles and their K-9 and engage in a mutual appreciation exchange with the officers and residents both saying how much they value and appreciate each other. This year the GPD ended the parade at Main Street City Park where people can spend more time talking and getting photo opportunities.
