7 years of good food, good games, and even better neighbors! 🎉

The 7th annual Eat & Greet was everything a block party should be. Food carts, live music, carnival games, face painting, a petting zoo, and conversation bingo to give us all the perfect excuse to introduce ourselves to the people living right down the street. Because being neighbors is more than just sharing a zip code, it’s being a part of a community.

Watching strangers become friends over a plate of tamales and churros? That's what this is all about. This community shows up for each other every single year, and this year was no different. We are all neighbors. We are all in this together.

Thanks to everyone who came out, and we can’t wait to see you again next year!

Here is our Showers & Hygiene schedule for the week.

🚿We will be at Pilgrim Lutheran on Monday the 25th; PDX Saints Love Day Center and Family of Grace Church on the 26th; WeShine Village and Imago Dei Eastside on Wednesday the 27th; PDX Saints Love Day Center and Freedom Foursquare Church on the 28th; and All Saints Episcopal on Saturday the 30th.

🧼Resources at all sites will be from 11 am - 2 pm. We will have showers, clean clothing, and hygiene products.

🚿The stationary hygiene hub located at Cultivate Initiatives (14625 SE Stark St.) is also open this week, offering showers, hygiene resources, and laundry services. Those operating hours are 9:30 am - 2 pm Tuesday through Thursday, and 10:30 am - 3 pm on Friday. The Workforce Hub, including our hygiene services, will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

🚿We will be at Pilgrim Lutheran on Monday the 18th; PDX Saints Love Day Center and Family of Grace on the 19th; WeShine Village and Imago Dei Eastside on Wednesday the 20th; Midland Library, PDX Saints Love Day Center, and Freedom Foursquare Church on the 21st; and All Saints Episcopal on Saturday the 23rd.

🚿The stationary hygiene hub located at Cultivate Initiatives (14625 SE Stark St.) is also open Monday through Thursday this week, offering showers, hygiene resources, and laundry services. Those operating hours are 10:30 am - 3 pm Monday, and 9:30 am - 2 pm Tuesday-Thursday. The Workforce Hub, including hygiene services, will be closed on Friday, May 22 as our whole crew will be working to put on the 7th annual Eat & Greet!

Last week, more than 20 Cultivators rolled in to the Multnomah County Budget Hearing to advocate for Workforce funding, encouraging our elected representatives to commit to sustainable, effective pathways out of homelessness.

Two of our team members testified, sharing stories of growth and transformation. We are so proud of both Shannon and Kara for expressing the importance of employment as part of the journey from homelessness to stability.
