African Family Holistic Health Organization The African Family Holistic Health Organization ( AFHHO) was created in 2014 in part by Portland's Swahili-speaking, community health workers (CHW)

AFHHO has provided workshops on healthcare navigation, focusing on understanding how to navigate a complicated healthcare system, accessing preventative healthcare, understanding how and when to seek emergency and urgent care, and breaking down barriers to access needed services in a timely manner. AFHHO also was one of few organizations to provide workshops on preventative health care during a possible Ebola outbreak among the Multnomah County's African refugee and immigrant populations.

🎉👶🏾Celebrating a huge milestone! We just wrapped up our prenatal/childbirth classes in partnership with Jeyonna from HBI (Health Birth Initiative ) 💙 💗

Over 19 pregnant moms in our Watoto Wetu community have completed this journey together — building knowledge, confidence, and connection as they prepare to welcome their little ones! 🤰🏾🌍

Next stop: our AFHHO Baby Shower this September, where we’ll come together to celebrate these amazing moms and get them ready for their babies’ arrival! 🍼✨

💛 Want to be part of the celebration? We always welcome donations to help support our moms and their babies.

🤲🏾Volunteers are especially needed on Baby Shower days — held Fridays afternoons! Come be a part of this beautiful community moment.

📩 Reach out to learn how you can donate or volunteer with AFHHO!
