WHO?... You, and your friends and family that you invite. Filipinos AND non-Filipinos are welcome! 🇵🇭 🇺🇲

WHAT?... Are welcome to join the Filipino American Association of Vancouver (FAAV), and their friends and family.

WHERE?... Vancouver Lake Regional Park, 6801 NW Lower River Road, Vancouver, WA 98660

WHEN?... 11am to 4pm, Sunday, June 22, 2025.

WHY?... To join FAAV, and their friends and family, in celebrating Philippine Independence Day. There will be food, music, performances, games for all age groups, and prizes for game-winners.

HOW?... By bringing a POTLUCK dish to share with others at the picnic. The Filipino American Association of Vancouver (FAAV) will also provide some Filipino dishes, to share with picnic guests.

GENTLE REMINDERS:

Parents/Guardians please supervise your children. No lifeguard is on duty at the lake.

No cover charge to enter the picnic; however Clark County charges a fee to park your vehicle. Bring cash or credit card.

Vendors will be at this event; bring cash and credit cards if you wish to purchase items.

This is an outdoor event. If you have seasonal allergies, don't forget to bring your antihistamines and allergy eye drops.

No alcoholic beverages at this event please. Children are present.

Public bathrooms are a walking distance from the picnic shelter.

Signs will be at the location, directing you to the event location.

By attending our event, you have agreed to have your picture taken. This is a public event announced on FAAV's website and page.

Please be kind. Not only because it's a good thing to do, but because it's the right thing to do.

I am confident that by attending, you will make new friendships, renew old friendships, and nurture existing friendships!!!

ATTENTION, PLEASE!!!
THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED.
Another occasion will be planned that will include a Mass, so as not to overwhelm the Mamaril family.
Please know that the utmost concern is ApuSim's day-to-day condition (HE IS WELL for a 99-yo), but he is easily overwhelmed and irritated.
Although we want to celebrate him, it is important for us to consider that whatever we do needs to be enjoyable for him and his family.
Please stay tuned!

IN THE MEANTIME -- I encourage you to send individual video greetings (via messenger here, or email to [email protected]) with the following criteria:
a) maximum of 3 minutes
b) introduce yourself and say your name clearly
c) share HOW do you know ApuSim and for how long
d) whatever else you'd like to greet him with BUT UNDER 3 MINUTES.

There will be music to dance to, provided by the Filipino American Association of Portland.

Karaoke?... Maybe. After all ~ it's a pinoy thing to do at gatherings. 😉
