This past Saturday, Portland said goodbye to the Lloyd Center. After 66 years of being open to the public, we will never forget the memories our residents and community shared on the rink and throughout the mall. While we are sad to say goodbye, we want to thank the Lloyd Center for all the fun memories. We will never forget all the fun our residents had on the iconic ice rink with Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Connection a few years ago.
We hope the redevelopment of the Lloyd Center property will continue to provide an accessible space for all!

Audra's activism and leadership on behalf of people with disabilities is inspiring! We are so grateful that she calls Quad Inc. home. Thank you for being a strong voice for our community!

We're incredibly grateful to every advocate that speaks up for the rights of people with disabilities. Audra — one of the plaintiffs in our lawsuit against the City of Portland and Multnomah County — joined DRO Executive Director & CEO Jake Cornett on OPB's Think Out Loud.

They discussed the lawsuit we filed last week with Disability Law United and the ACLU. The case alleges that Portland and Multnomah County's emergency management systems fail to protect people with disabilities before, during, and after disasters — from inaccessible alerts to inadequate evacuation and shelter accommodations.

Welcome to Burnside Station Apartments! Constructed in 2004, Burnside Station is Quad’s fourth independent living facility. Tucked away in the neighborhood off 160th Avenue between East Burnside and SE Stark Street, Burnside Station is minutes from TriMet’s max blue line, major bus routes and an array of local grocery stores, restaurants and more. The building features 20 accessible one and two-bedroom apartments, a large outdoor community space, indoor community room, and accessible parking.

All QUAD Inc. buildings offer optional, 24/7 shared attendant care with onsite staff to support residents who choose to enroll. Quad services support activities of daily living including wake-up and bedtime care, cooking, medical assistance, project assistance, activities, and more. To promote and maintain residents’ independence, Quad gives residents the power to choose and direct services themselves, ensuring they receive the help and support they really need.

Our friends from Upstream Access came to our Station 162 building for an emergency preparedness workshop last week. Upstream Access is a cross-disability community grounded in resilience, connection and collective power that supports our disability community through collective resilience.

During our workshop, QUAD residents participated in an extreme heat preparedness session that explored practical, person-centered strategies for individuals living with disabilities and community members to stay cool in times of extreme heat. Residents also worked on creating support networks and brainstormed resources to create resilient emergency response plans.

At the end of the session, Upstream Access provided extreme heat kits to QUAD resident participants. The kits contained useful items like electric fans, solar-powered lights, ice packs and more.

Thank you Upstream Access for empowering QUAD residents to become better prepared for future emergencies and thank you to the Clark Foundation for funding this awesome event!

We cannot believe the transformation of the community garden beds at Myers Court! The overhaul was quite a task with all the overgrown weeds from the off season, but our residents and volunteers did an amazing job!
