Standing Stone Church to Celebrate Grand Opening on October 18!
Bly, OR | Dedication Service at 3:00 pm

After 628 days of rebuilding, Standing Stone Church in Bly, Oregon, is preparing to open its doors once again! Pastor David Prantner shares an update on this exciting milestone and invites the Alliance Northwest family to join in celebrating God's faithfulness.

“We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has faithfully prayed for and supported us throughout this season. Two years ago, my family and I were midway through a sabbatical from our ministry here in Bly. In the spirit of Habakkuk 1:5, if anyone had told me then that six months later we would be rebuilding from the ashes, I wouldn't have believed it. Yet here we are—628 days after our building was lost, we are joyfully opening our doors on October 18 for our grand opening celebration!

We completely understand how busy all of your ministry schedules are, but we would be delighted to have you join us to celebrate God's faithfulness and the incredible dedication of our workers and volunteers. Below is our schedule for the day, and you are so welcome to pop in for any part of it.

9:45 am - Sunday School
11:00 am - Worship Service
12:00 pm - Community Potluck
3:00 pm - Dedication Service
5:00 pm - Wrap-up

As we take this exciting step, our journey continues. To help us finish setting up responsibly in a time of rising costs, we’ve put together an Amazon gift registry for the church building. It includes a variety of items, from basic office and classroom supplies to kitchen essentials and a few electronics. If you feel led and are able to support us in this way, you can view our wishlist here: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/1MA70P0T98UTH?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_ggr-subnav-share_1VFNCQT374QV2TKYHYHY&utm_source=Alliance+Northwest+Newsletter&utm_campaign=0323eafbfc-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2026_10_13_07_38&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_2a97df1f7f-0323eafbfc-578519295

All of us at Standing Stone Church are so thankful for the ongoing opportunity to share God's love and the gospel here in Bly. Please keep us in your prayers as we step into this new chapter, and may God richly bless your own wonderful ministries as you serve your local communities!”

With love and gratitude,
Pastor David Prantner

The Lasting Impact of Summer Camp: Where Seeds of Faith Are Planted

All summer long, across our district, a familiar phenomenon has been unfolding. Small armies of teenagers have been marched into the woods, cabins, and lakes of the Pacific Northwest by brave counselors and leaders.

Summer camp remains a time-honored tradition in student ministry, and for many young people, it becomes a pivotal moment in their decision to follow Jesus.

This past July, we witnessed incredible growth as students encountered Christ. One young man began finding his worth in Jesus rather than in his performance on the soccer field. One young woman stepped into confession and repentance and found grace and friendship among girls who had been strangers just days earlier.

In the aftermath of too much Axe body spray and too little sleep, I am reminded of what camp makes possible. It creates space for silence, reflection, worship, confession, and honest conversation. It removes students from the noise of ordinary life and gives them an opportunity to hear Jesus more clearly.

Camp cannot replace the slow work of discipleship, but it can interrupt a student’s life long enough for something new to begin.
As students return to their homes, schools, teams, and churches, please pray that the seeds planted this summer would continue to grow. Pray that they would remain rooted in Scripture, surrounded by Christian community, and courageous in following Jesus long after camp has ended.
