It may be spooky season, but we’d like to introduce Pittsburgh to its 113th Christmas Tree!

The Forestry Division of the Department of Public Works has selected this 38-foot blue spruce from Brighton Heights as our Official City Hall Christmas Tree for 2026. Graciously donated by the homeowner, the tree will be transported to the City-County Building in November and illuminated during the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s Light Up Night celebrations. It is Downtown’s only live Christmas tree, and one of Pittsburgh’s oldest surviving holiday traditions.

Following the holiday season, it will be turned into mulch for our CitiParks system.

Brighton Heights 2026 ornaments are AVAILABLE for sale for $10 each. We will have them in person at the BHCF Halloween Parade , November 2026 Elections and General Membership Meeting, and of course, Bright the Night (December 5-SAVE THE DATE!)

We will also offer local delivery for those who don’t want to wait for an event. Here’s how that works:

-Send your $10 per ornament payment via Venmo or PayPal to and confirm it is “Brighton Heights Citizens Federation” before sending and take a screenshot of the payment
-Send a message to this page with your payment screenshot and your local delivery address.
-If you have issues sending messages to this page (Facebook can be weird), send your message to Stacy Berk.
-Volunteers will make deliveries through the months of October and November. It might take a couple of weeks but we will get you your ornament, and as soon as your payment is confirmed, your ornament will be reserved.

This is our third annual ornament and we are so glad that neighbors have supported this fundraiser each year! We love that Brighton Heights has a little spot in your annual holiday traditions!

Here it is! Our 2026 holiday ornament!

We will have them available for sale in Legion Park tomorrow afternoon. Pricing information will be available then.

This years ornament was inspired by the lit tree at Legion Park and has a gold edge. It was designed by a local community member. We think it turned out great!

We will also be taking orders for delivery, selling them at the November 2026 Elections and General Membership Meeting, and might do some pop up sale opportunities at ACB at Brighton Heights over the next couple of months. Stay tuned for more info!
