PRT BUS LINE REFRESH Public Comment Period:

From August 17 to September 30, you will be able to explore the proposed final network, find your route, and provide public comment through a variety of events and tools. Your comments during this period will go to the PRT Board, helping them understand how the proposal will work for riders and what might need more attention before they vote on whether to adopt the plan.

What is Bus Line Refresh?

Bus Line Refresh (BLR) is an update to Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s bus network that reflects how people travel today while building on what already works. Rather than a major overhaul, BLR focuses on improving reliability, frequency, seven-day service, and connectivity throughout the network.

Shaped by rider and operator feedback, BLR makes targeted improvements using our current funding and staffing. The goal is a clearer, more dependable network that better serves everyday trips and is ready to grow in the future.

The Mayor’s Office is re-launching the Civic Leadership Academy, a free 10-week course for local residents to learn more about City government directly from leaders of City departments, authorities and bureaus.

Residents can apply for the program, which runs on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 8:00 PM from September through December. Participants will engage in weekly presentations, discussions and site visits with city government leaders.

Applications can be submitted from now until 11:59 PM on Friday, August 21, 2026. Participation is limited and applicants must be residents of the City of Pittsburgh OR operate a business, non-profit or do community impact work within city limits.

The City of Pittsburgh Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI), in coordination with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will conduct a Public Meeting to present information regarding the Herron Ave Bridge Preservation Project.
At this meeting, the project team will provide an update on the status of the bridge design, the anticipated construction schedule, and the next steps.

The Home Accessibility Program for Independence (also referred to as HAPI) is a grant program intended to assist eligible homeowners and landlords to construct accessibility modifications to their homes.

Accessible modifications include, but are not limited to:
Exterior ramps
Chair gliders or lifts
Door widening
Bathroom modifications
Lowering kitchen counters
Sliding shelves
Visual door bells
Visual phone signalers

Eligible homeowners may receive a grant between $1,000 and $15,000 for a single household. Landlords may receive a grant up to $7,500 per unit.
