We were honored at the SACP-SSP May Meeting to receive the Salute to Excellence Award from the American Chemical Society Pittsburgh Section 👏

This recognition highlights our continued commitment to supporting science education, advancing public appreciation of chemistry, and partnering with the local scientific community.

The award was presented by Dr. Ronghong Lin (ACS Pittsburgh Local Section President) to Dr. C.B. Wang (SSP Chair) and Dr. Neal Dando (SACP Chair).

Thank you to the ACS Pittsburgh Section for this incredible honor! 🔬

We had a fantastic time hosting our annual educator workshops at Pittcon HQ! 🙌

From hands-on spectroscopy activities for younger students to advanced software tools and lab simulations for high school classrooms, it was all about giving teachers practical, engaging ways to connect students with science. 🔬💻

And of course, sending everyone home with tools, materials, and ideas they can use right away.

Thank you to all the educators who joined us and continue to inspire the next generation!

Our EMSSOP Workshop was a great success! 🎉🔬
Attendees enjoyed a catered breakfast, took home starter kits, and left full of ideas to launch or enhance their Science Olympiad programs.

A huge thank-you to our wonderful presenters: Don Antczak, Megan Melucci, and Janet McCann, who shared their expertise and passion for hands-on STEM education.

And special appreciation to Penny (Chair) and Maggie (Chair-Elect) for their leadership and support in making this workshop possible.

We’re excited to see how these ideas grow in schools and communities to inspire future scientists! 🚀🧪

We’re proud to support hands-on science in our community! 🙌
The SACP and SSP were delighted to help fund the recent event organized by the Pittsburgh Section of the American Chemical Society at the Carnegie Science Center.

A special shoutout to Hailey Crusenberry, Marah Pegram, and Kalena Mostoller for bringing science to life in the Demo Lab! 🧪✨
Their interactive experiment used mustard seeds in soda water to demonstrate how CO₂ nucleates on the seed surfaces, causing them to rise and fall — a fun, visual way to explore gas behavior and density.
It’s experiments like these that spark curiosity and inspire future scientists. 💡🔬
