WOW! We continue to be blown away by the generosity of our Woodland Hills community!

Today brought a wonderful surprise at Wilkins Elementary! Our newest Woodland Hills Foundation board member, Dr. Christina Ashwin, was there for a meeting with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Foundation Development Director Jennifer Trehar, and WHSD social worker Danielle Zurisko. But before getting down to business, we had the chance to connect with our friends Rick and Ruth Boyle.

Rick and Ruth were there representing Hope Lutheran Church’s Hope and Giving Committee, and they came bearing an incredibly generous gift: $1,000 to support the Woodland Hills Foundation’s programs and services!

We are so grateful to Hope Lutheran Church and the Hope and Giving Committee for investing in our students, families, and community. Gifts like this help us continue saying YES to the programs, resources, and opportunities that make a difference for Woodland Hills students.

Thank you, Rick and Ruth, and thank you, Hope Lutheran Church, for believing in our mission and supporting our kids!

The halls are full again. Backpacks are packed. Classrooms are buzzing. Our Woodland Hills students are back for a brand-new school year.

But unfortunately, hunger doesn’t take a summer break.

Over the summer, donations to our food programs slowed significantly—but now that students are back in school, the need is as great as ever.

Through the Woodland Hills Foundation, Backpacks of Hope and the Free High School Food Pantry help make sure students have access to food when they leave school each day and over the weekend.

Backpacks of Hope provides K–8 students in need with six easy-to-prepare meals to take home each weekend.

The Free High School Food Pantry gives high school students and their families access to free food—including fresh meats, fruits, vegetables and other essentials—throughout the school year.

Two programs. One goal: making sure hunger never stands between a Woodland Hills student and their ability to learn, grow and thrive.

As we begin another school year, we need your help filling our backpacks and stocking our shelves.

Every bag. Every can. Every dollar. It all makes a difference.

Trunk Host Sign-Ups Are Now Open!

Help us make the Woodland Hills Foundation'a Trunk or Treat an unforgettable afternoon for local children and families! Decorate your vehicle, dress up if you’d like, and join us in handing out candy and creating Halloween memories for our community.

SAVE THE DATE! Trunk or Treat is BACK on Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 2-4 PM at Woodland Hills High School! It might only be August but we are ready to get this Halloween party started! More details and Trunk Registrations will be announced soon. In the meantime, stay spooky my friends!
