Grant Supports Mental Health Counseling at Homer-Center

We’re proud to support the Homer-Center School District with a $115,000 grant to fund a mental health counselor for the 2026–27 school year.

The grant will help make mental health support more accessible to students, encourage them to seek support when needed, and reinforce the connection between mental health and overall wellness.

As Superintendent Ralph Cecere shared, “Their support helps us put our district’s motto, ‘where everybody is somebody,’ into practice in a meaningful way.”

We’re grateful to partner with Homer-Center in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students in our region.

Pause with Purpose: A Look Back

A few moments from our Pause with Purpose event are here!

From yoga and sound baths to wellness resources, financial guidance, and Sharise Nance, LCSW Compassion Fatigue and Professional Burnout Speaker’s keynote on compassion fatigue, the day offered many ways to pause, reconnect, and refocus.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible, including our wellness and resource partners:

For su***de loss survivor Kelleigh Boland, there is a clear dividing line between life before and after the loss of her youngest brother, Pat.

In this edition of Staunton Farm Foundation's blog, Kelleigh shares five truths she has gathered through lived experience, her work with Our Black Rose, support groups, conversations, and research:

• We exist.
• We are grit and resilience.
• We need resources.
• We are in this together.
• We love them.

Su***de loss survivors carry profound grief, but they also carry memories, resilience, insight, and a deep desire to create a world where fewer families experience this kind of loss.

My youngest brother, Pat, died by su***de. There aren’t words to convey the enormity of the impact Pat’s death has had on my life. There is only Before I lost Pat and After I lost Pat. A dark, boldly drawn line between who I was before I lost him and who I am today. I am a su***de loss survivor.

Pause with Purpose: Continuing the conversation
Following Pause with Purpose, keynote speaker Sharise Nance, LCSW Compassion Fatigue and Professional Burnout Speaker, shared insights on the importance of prioritizing wellness, creating space to pause, and caring for the people who spend their days caring for others.

Her message is an important reminder that wellness is not a luxury—it’s part of sustaining the work.

Read Sharise’s reflections and continue the conversation in the latest blog: stauntonfarm.org/the-things-we-get-used-to.

Lately, I've been thinking about what we get used to. Not because it's healthy—but because it's familiar. We get used to carrying heavy caseloads. We get used to interrupted lunches, difficult conversations, staffing shortages, and constant change. We get used to answering "How are you?" with "I'm...

That's a wrap on Staunton Farm Foundation's first .

Today, behavioral health and substance use disorder professionals had the opportunity to step away from the demands of their work and make space for themselves — through movement, mindfulness, learning, wellness, connection, and conversation.

A special thank-you to our incredible Pause with Purpose partners:

And thank you to everyone who showed up, took a breath, and gave themselves permission to pause.

Because sustaining the work starts with sustaining the people doing it.
