For generations, Tobyhanna Army Depot in Monroe County has made blood donation part of its culture of service.

Hosting monthly Red Cross blood drives and supporting more than 14,000 donations since 2000, their impact is undeniable, but their commitment goes back even further.

Archival photos show their teams rolling up a sleeve as far back as 1955, a tradition of helping others that has deep roots.

We’re grateful for their longstanding dedication to helping patients in need.

Every day, the American Red Cross helps hundreds of military families through the Hero Care Network, a 24/7 support system for service members and their loved ones facing crises of all kinds.

As the only organization congressionally chartered to provide emergency communications between active-duty service members and their families during personal emergencies, the Red Cross has a unique responsibility to carry out this work.

From the serious illness or loss of an immediate family member to the birth of a child, the Red Cross helps keep families connected, with compassionate help just a phone call away.

Making our community safer, one home at a time!

Last weekend, Red Cross volunteers and community partners fanned out across the Northeast neighborhood in York for a Sound the Alarm event, going door to door to install free smoke alarms and share fire safety information. Seconds count in a home fire and working smoke alarms can make all the difference.

Thank you to everyone who made this lifesaving effort a success!

🌀 Hurricane season is officially here, running from June 1 to November 30.

When disasters strike, the Red Cross is on the ground, providing safe shelter, hot meals and critical relief to families in need.

You can be part of that response. If you’re able to travel, consider deploying for a two‑week assignment to support communities facing a crisis. Your time can bring comfort, stability and hope when it’s needed most.

Whether you’re retired, between jobs or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back, this is your chance to be part of something powerful.

Hotter days are on the way across Pennsylvania later this week, so now is the time to prepare. ☀️

Eat light, hydrate often and avoid drinks that can dehydrate you. Extreme heat is too dangerous to be invisible, so remember to check on neighbors and loved ones at higher risk. A quick call, text or knock on the door could help save a life.
