We loved hosting the students and staff from East End United Community Center on Saturday! Their field trip included a tour of the Byham Theater, lunch in our brand new Arts Landing, and interactive arts workshops with two of our amazing teaching artists. Reach out if you're interested in bringing your group of students or campers downtown for a Cultural District field trip!

🎭 Calling Performing Arts Teaching Artists in Western PA!

Do you believe the arts belong in early childhood classrooms?
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is recruiting Teaching Artists for the Western PA Wolf Trap program for the 2026–2027 school year.

This nationally recognized program, developed by the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, partners professional artists with preschool educators to bring music, dance, theatre, puppetry, and storytelling into early learning classrooms.

Teaching Artists collaborate with teachers to design creative strategies that support literacy, social-emotional learning, and active engagement for preschool and kindergarten students.

✨ Why join the program?
• Receive specialized training in arts integration for early childhood education
• Work directly with preschool teachers in classroom residencies
• Be part of a collaborative model that empowers educators to keep using the arts in their teaching

💰 Compensation
• $1,100 stipend for required New Artist Training (May 11–15, 2026)
• Average $850 per residency

📍 Artists must reside in Western Pennsylvania and be available for school-day residencies October 2026 – June 2027.

If you’re a performing artist passionate about teaching, collaboration, and the power of the arts for young children, we encourage you to apply or share with a colleague.
