Hope Spotlight! Cash, Therapy Dog 🐾

We are excited to honor a special part of the Hope Hospice team who brings so many smiles and so much joy!

Cash will be 6 years old on September 25th, and he weighs 96 lbs. He’s been a Therapy Dog for 3 1/2 years and absolutely loves working with Hope Hospice. He gets very excited when he gets to wear his official Therapy Dog International scarf!

Often, when we are leaving patients’ residences, Cash will lay down and refuse to budge because he’d rather stay!

Cash’s father was the only Golden Retriever to win the Sporting Group at the Westminster Dog Show. But to all of us, he’s just a big, squishy, furry ball of love. ❤️

And of course, he loves his peanut butter and Parmesan cheese! 🥜🧀

Hospice vs. Palliative Care: What's the Difference?
Many people use the terms hospice and palliative care interchangeably, but they are not the same.

Palliative care focuses on relieving pain, symptoms, and stress caused by a serious illness. It can be provided at any stage of an illness and alongside treatments that are intended to cure or manage the condition.

💚 Hospice Care
Hospice care is designed for individuals who are facing a life-limiting illness and have chosen to focus on comfort and quality of life rather than curative treatment. Hospice also provides emotional, spiritual, and practical support for both patients and their loved ones.

Both types of care share the same goal: helping people live as comfortably and meaningfully as possible.

Happy International Self-Care Day! 💚
Today is a gentle reminder to take time for yourself.
Caregivers give so much of their time, energy, and heart to others, which can make them especially vulnerable to burnout. Even a few moments of rest, fresh air, or doing something you enjoy can help you recharge.
Remember: Caring for yourself isn't selfish. It's an important part of being able to care for others. Take good care of you today!

We are excited to gift one of our residents, who absolutely adores children, a lifelike baby doll through our benevolence fund. We hope this special gift brings her comfort, companionship, and lots of joy! ❤️
