This week Mia and Caroline presented a new workshop called “Spectacles in Public Spaces”. The workshop is all about the community impacts of free, public, and accessible art. Students from the Environmental Charter Middle School’s eighth grade quest lab project engaged in discussions on why art affects them and their communities as a whole, collaboratively created “spectacles” of their own, and learned more about the history and inner workings of an art organization like Squonk.
Thanks to the staff at August Wilson African-American Cultural Center, especially CC and Bri. And thank you to Nida and Jenny from the ECS.
