Today we celebrated the life of Jane McShea. Family and friends gathered and shared stories, memories, laughs… and plenty of tears. What we all experienced was a common love and respect of an incredible woman. She will remain forever in our hearts.

Hi everyone, it's Jane's husband Bernie, hope you're having a great summer! I wanted to let uou know that Jane's memorial service is now confirmed for Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM in Levy Hall of Rodef Shalom Congregation, 4905 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. For those unable to attend in person, I will get a live video link set up. I will be sending a more formal notification, but wanted to provide notice so that you can hold time on your calendar.

Thank you for the countless expressions of kindness that we have received during Jane's illness and since her passing, Caroline and I are so thankful that we belong to the incredible TRFCC community!

Jane

You were a lot of things: a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother — but to this TRFCC group you were something else entirely…

the first friendly face at a Waiting Families meeting
the source of information on an adoption matter
the voice on the phone asking (begging) us to volunteer
the smile as we walked into the annual CNY event
the exasperated laugh as something went wrong at Chinese New Year
the sound of reason at a planning meeting
the excitement that surrounded Culture Camp weekend
the person in the chair next to us at a board meeting
our dinner companion
our late-night text correspondent
our confidant
but most of all, our dear friend.

A light in the world has gone out today. After a long battle, Jane is at peace. Her family will be forever in our thoughts, and she will remain forever in our hearts.

Hi everyone! My name is Rebecca Schiavone and as the captain of the OCA dance ensemble, I would like to invite all teens to get involved in the OCA youth group activities.

The youth group volunteers at many local events throughout the year but also plans other fun activities. These activities are a great way to learn more about the Chinese culture and receive community service hours.

To learn more about the group, you are welcome to come to the dance ensemble’s annual holiday party on December 15th at 11:30am at the Wilkins School Community Center and/or come volunteer to help at the OCA Lunar New Year Banquet on February 8th at the Children’s Museum.

This has been a great experience for me and OCA provides an excellent platform to have these unique opportunities. If you have any questions about this or if you are interested in coming to any of these events, please feel free to message me at [email protected].
