Trash Cat Rescue We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue. Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions.

Last but certainly not least, is our Golden Girl Dorothy. In a different life Dorothy was a fierce Puma—at least that’s what she tells herself as she loves to stalk the feather wand and pounce on her prey (foster mom’s foot underneath the covers). When she’s not hunting, she throws her whole body into her chin scritches to the point of nearly toppling over! Dorothy is a sweet, gentle kitty that won’t say no to some wet food or Churu!

Dorothy has come a long way since being in foster—from hiding in a paper bag to now lounging on the bed and starting to play. She’s still shy and startles easily but continues to make remarkable progress. She should go home with patient adopters like cat savvy adults and older children who will give her time to settle in. She seems hesitant of the resident senior dog and would probably do best in a home without a dog or a calm one that respects boundaries. Similarly, Dorothy could do well as a solo cat or with a friendly resident cat with slow introductions.

This cute little flower is Primrose! She’s petite, pretty, lovable, and ready to find her forever family. Prim is so social with people. She has teeny little meows and purrs, likes to follow her people around, and loves to be petted and given attention. She’s easy to handle and doesn’t mind being picked up or held. Her easy-going nature would make her a good candidate for many different kinds of homes.

Primrose knows no strangers, adults and children alike. She lives in a colony room with other kitties. Prim was a bit timid at first and was a “boundary setter” with the other cats. However, she is settled in just fine and getting along well with the other cats. She would be good with other cats when given slow, proper introductions. She could also likely be fine as a solo cat. She was equally timid, but curious, with the foster family’s dog. She could potentially live with a cat-savvy, respectful dog also given slow introductions.

Meet Banjo – The Pint-Sized Boss

He packs a huge personality in a tiny frame as a member of the “Coat of Many Colors” litter. While he might be a little guy, he is named after the legendary instrument from Dolly’s song Applejack, and he is absolutely ready to let his banjo ring in your home.

Banjo is the boss and knows exactly how to get what he wants! He is loved by everyone he meets, especially his humans. He will be right on your heels all day long, working 9 to 5 supervising your every move. He is also certified in parkour and there are no heights he cannot conquer, including using your shoulders as his personal stage.

Banjo is incredibly high-energy and loves a good play session jumping, running and flying off of everything—including you if you’re in the way—and wrestling with his siblings. Due to his high energy, Banjo will need to go home with a sibling or to a home with a playful resident cat.

Once he wears himself out, Banjo shows off his sweet side. He’ll rule your heart when it’s time to settle down and cuddle up in your lap or with his favorite buddies, Dolly and Jolene. He also LOVES churu.

This handsome fellow is Goose! He is also known as “goosey”, “silly goose”, and “goosifer”. Goose is a social cat who knows no human strangers. He loves being petted. He likes to stretch, head bump, and give out big purrs…anything to garner your attention and love. He is very food motivated and comes running when he hears there’s dry food clinking a bowl or treats being thrown.

Goose is a pretty laid back guy. His foster parents often find him on the tallest perches of cat towers right next to the windows. He loves watching the birds and sleeping in the window light. He’s very easy to handle and he doesn’t mind being picked up. Goose is great with adults and children alike. He doesn’t mind the company of other laid back kitties nor dogs (if given time for slow introductions and proper acclimation time). He’s just an all around good boy, and would be a great fit for many different kinds of homes.

Meet Jolene – The Elegant Little Explorer

One of 3 girls in the ‘Coat of Many Colors’ litter, her beauty is truly beyond compare. With her unique tortie patches, white markings, and bright eyes, she is a true lady with a multi-layered personality.

Jolene is the most independent and curious explorer of her litter. She loves to spend her afternoons perched by the window, birdwatching and keeping tabs on the outside world when she isn’t rumbling around the room at group playtime. She enjoys affection and absolutely loves head pets, but she prefers to seek out attention on her own terms. When she is ready for love, her purr is soft like summer rain.

Jolene turns into a cuddle bug whenever naptime rolls around. She will chirp and nuzzle her head into your hand for some good chin scritches. She also loves to seek out her littermates for a group snooze, and she has a very special soft spot for her favorite cuddle buddy, Banjo. Meet Dolly – The Sweet-As-Pie Country Cutie

Meet Dolly, a rare and beautiful female orange tabby who is one of 3 girls in the ‘Coat of Many Colors’ litter. Just like her superstar namesake, this little girl is an absolute crowd-pleaser who is ready to serenade your heart.

Dolly is the perfect mix of docile and playful, with a gentle spirit that shows love is like a butterfly. She has an incredibly sweet, trusting nature and is so easy to handle that she will happily let you hold her belly-up like a baby! When she isn’t busy putting on a high-speed show chasing her favorite plastic spring toys, she is often the thoughtful observer of the group, happily watching the action from afar. Meet Daisy Mae – The Down Home Girl

Eyes full of stars and a heart full of dreams, she’s a beautiful dilute tortie female who is part of our ‘Coat of Many Colors’ litter. This little lady got her name from the big-dreaming country girl in Dolly Parton’s hit song White Limozeen. While she might not be riding in a limousine just yet, she is ready to go from the breadlines to the headlines as the star of your home!

Daisy Mae is incredibly sweet, chatty, and always ready to sing you a song. She’ll greet you with a lovely symphony of little trills and chirps the very second you enter the room. She is very easy to pick up and if you are ever ground level, you may find her hopping on to your back to sit or perch on your shoulder.

Lately, Daisy Mae has blossomed into a very cuddly girl who loves to hop in your lap and roll and flop while being loved on. When she isn’t busy demanding affection, she loves finding a good window to look out of. Don’t let her soft and sweet side fool you, this little gal can hold her own in a wrestling match and often challenges Banjo or Jolene to a WWE smackdown. She will also be the first to start zooming around the minute dinner is over. Due to her playful energy, Daisy will need to go home with a littermate or to home with a playful resident cat. Meet Applejack – The Fluffy, Sweet-Hearted Big Brother Extraordinaire

This handsome gray fluffy cloud is the gentleman of our “Coat of Many Colors” litter. Fittingly, he gets his name from Dolly Parton’s beloved song Applejack, and just like the character in the tune, he is the best friend you will ever find with a heart of pure gold.

Applejack is a total sweetheart who perfectly balances his playful side with a deeply affectionate nature. He is loved by everyone he meets, naturally stepping into the role of the ultimate good big brother and protector to his sisters. He loves his independent time—especially when he is perched by the window quietly observing the neighborhood —but his loyalty to his littermates is unmatched. He is always down for a play session and following that up with a good groom and cuddle.

Applejack is incredibly affectionate with his siblings and absolutely loves to clean you, offering sweet little grooming sessions to show you that you are part of his pack. Applejack would do best to be adopted with one of his siblings or into a home with another playful cat. He would also do well in a variety of homes.

Cortado is the perfect blend of sweetness and calm! Just like the coffee drink she is named after, she is smooth, balanced, and comforting, with just enough energy to keep things fun. Her gorgeous black and white markings even look like someone added the perfect splash of cream!

Cortado is incredibly sweet and outgoing. She loves people and has settled into her foster home as a calm, friendly girl who is always happy to have company. She is a little more laid back than Espresso, with fewer caffeine jitters and much more cozy coffee shop energy. She is also very food motivated, so the quickest way to her heart is to tip your barista in treats!

Cortado would do great with kids and would likely enjoy having feline friends after proper introductions. She has not met a dog yet, but she is so relaxed and easygoing that we think she could adjust well to a friendly pup with a slow introduction.
