Oh Mimi! ❤️ I will never understand how people think it’s ok to give an animal as a gift, without doing some proper education into that recipients background with animals, if they are set up, if they want it, or if they can take on that responsibility for the animals entire life. This happens to Mimi’s owners - they were gifted this beautiful piglet as a joke, and didn’t have the right set up or know how to take care of a piglet. But luckily the owners reacted the way I wish every pig owner would - they did their research and everything in their power to ensure she was healthy, happy, and content in her new home. Knowing they couldn’t keep her due to being in a rental and having limited pig experience, they reached out to our network. While waiting for a home they googled, used Reddit, and asked advice to ensure this 6 week old piglet would survive. I can count on one hand, and with two fingers, the amount of people that have done this for unwanted “gift” pigs. Usually they come to us malnourished, on the brink of death, or with severe behavioral issues. While we look for a new home through our friends azpiggynetwork, BPR agreed to take her. She’s a happy, spunky, beautifully adjusted little piglet that loves people (thanks to her owners) and is just now getting used to other pigs. She is a pig pig, meaning she loves the mud, a little hay, and just being outside in the presence of other pigs. If you are interested in adopting her through our network, please shoot over a DM. Regardless she will get the happy ending she deserves because she landed in a safe home.
