Every dog deserves love, no matter where they come from. Saving lives, preventing suffering, and giving hope is our passion.

We fight for the forgotten dogs on Native American reservations through rescue, spay/neuter, medical care, and food assistance. We are a volunteer based rescue based out of Phoenix, Arizona who are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason. We place dogs in loving, responsible, permanent homes and take considerable care in finding good matches. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement.

🩷 FROM SCARED TO SPOILED: EM’S HAPPY ENDING 🐾

On October 8, Em spent her very first night with her new family. She was a timid girl who needed patience, understanding, and time to learn that she was finally safe.

Just look at her now! 🥹

She’s cuddling, sleeping in bed with her family, sitting on Dad’s lap, soaking up all the love and attention, and making herself right at home.

Her family recently sent us this message:

“We think you faked us out with this lovable freak…. Timid, reserved? Ha! She was just sitting on my lap and she’s slept with us the last three nights…. We adore her and she no longer has a shell… she’s amazing….”

When Em was waiting for her forever family, we knew she was a special girl. Meeting new people was scary for her, and she needed someone willing to let her learn to trust at her own pace.

Her adopters understood that from the very beginning. They gave her patience, kindness, and the space to build trust. They didn’t ask her to be someone she wasn’t. They simply gave her the chance to feel safe enough to let her beautiful personality shine.

And look at the girl who was hiding inside that shell!

To Em’s amazing family, thank you for believing in her and giving her the loving home she deserves. 🫶

🥶 COLD WEATHER IS COMING — HELP US KEEP OUR REZ DOGS WARM & FED! 🙏🐕♥️

As temperatures begin to drop, we’re thinking about the reservation dogs we help who live outdoors, often with very little protection from the cold. While we can’t bring every dog inside, we want to do everything we can to help them stay as warm, well fed, and comfortable as possible.

At Adopt a Dog Rescue, we have a soft spot for our Rez dogs. These dogs deserve full bellies, warm bedding, and a little comfort when the weather turns cold.

We are requesting donations of:

🛏️ Blankets, comforters, sheets & mats
🧥Fleece Sweaters
🏠 Large dog houses to provide shelter from the elements

Every bag of food, every blanket, and every dog house can make a real difference in the life of a dog who has so little.

💕 SWEET MIRANDA IS BACK ON THE MARKET! 🌸

This beautiful girl is looking for the forever person/family that’s the perfect fit for her!

Sometimes, a loving home just isn’t the right match, and Miranda has found herself back with us through no fault of her own.

Miranda is a young Heeler/Husky mix with a playful spirit, a curious mind, and normal puppy energy for her age. She needs a family who understands that an active, intelligent girl like her needs attention, exercise, enrichment, and stimulation.

Her previous home had a toddler, and Miranda was eager to play with her little human friend… perhaps a little too eager! 😂 Between trying to engage her in play and gently pulling the bows from her hair, Miranda hadn’t quite mastered the art of giving little ones their personal space.

Remember Briggs? Our sweet boy who waited patiently for his people to see him, through meet and greets that didn’t say yes to an in home trial scheduled and the potential adopters no showed! 🥺

Well, look at him now! 🥹🙌

Briggs has wholeheartedly settled into his forever home, and as you can see he’s living his BEST life! From cozy couch naps to riding sh***un, he’s embracing all the little things that make a house a home.

After waiting so long for his happy ending, seeing him relaxed, loved, and completely at ease is everything we could have hoped for.

Sometimes the wait is hard, but the right family is worth waiting for. And Briggs, you certainly found yours. 🥰

Dixie got adopted in the blink of an eye!! So let us introduce you to another precious little girl searching for her forevermore - Meet Maggie 🩷🌸

Maggie is a 3–4 month old sweet and gentle puppy who may be an Aussie/Shepherd or Lab mix. Her exact breed is unknown, but we do expect her to grow into a medium sized dog.

Maggie is a well behaved little girl who is learning and growing more confident every day. She can be a bit submissive, but she’s coming out of her shell and showing more of her sweet personality all the time.

She loves toys, playing with her brother, and being a good girl! She’s smart and already working on her house training.
