Adopt A Dog Rescue We are dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters, reservations, and owners who can no longer care for them.

Phoenix, AZ We are a volunteer based rescue based out of Phoenix, Arizona who are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason. We place dogs in loving, responsible, permanent homes and take considerable care in finding good matches. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes

while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement.

Can anyone help 💔

I was driving when I saw an old dog running on the 51 freeway.

Then watched him get hit by a car.

I pulled over and another kind woman stopped too. We got him off the freeway and onto the streets. By some miracle he ran into a yard with a sliding gate and I shut it behind him.

I didn’t have a leash. He was hot and terrified. So I called for help. Humane told me he wasn’t injured enough for them and transferred me to county.

County told me it would be two hours before they could get there and they could not open the gate when they arrived.

Their suggestion??

OPEN THE GATE AND LET HIM OUT. They would try to find him later.

What the actual f**k.

I canceled every appointment I had went and bought a leash and came back from him. This scared hot boy let me leash him and jumped right in my car 😭

he was so hot, filthy, incredibly skinny and exhausted. He has a mass in his leg that needs to be evaluated. We named him Grampy ❤️

And now I’m sitting here wondering what I’m supposed to do. Our rescue is struggling. We have a lot of dogs depending on us and so many medical bills. I know we can’t keep saying yes when there’s nothing left to say with.

But after this old man trusted me enough to climb in my car, the thought of driving him to county is absolutely killing me.

So I’m asking for help. Begging for help.

if we can help raise enough to cover Grampy‘s medical care, I will personally foster him.

He’ll have a soft bed. He’ll sleep inside. He’ll have good food. Clean water and air-conditioning. He’ll finally know what it feels like to be someone’s old man instead of someone’s forgotten yard dog.

Any amount is never too small. It really adds up. If you can’t donate, please share him.

He’s survived the freeway, being hit by a car and somehow you ran into the one yard where I could close the gate behind him.

Maybe that was his miracle. I’m just praying we can be the rest of it 💔🐾😭

🐾 THEIR FOREVER HAS BEGUN 🎉

Today, we’re celebrating the recent adoptions of Blaze, Sophia & Reggie and counting our blessings as they each begin the next chapter of their lives with families of their very own. 🏡❤️

When they came to us, we didn’t know exactly where their journeys would lead. But we knew one thing: they deserved a chance. A safe place to land. Someone to love them. And a family who would choose them, forever.

And now… they have that. 🥰

Three deserving dogs who once needed us now have people who need them. People who will wake up to their happy faces, share their couches, spoil them with treats, and love them through every chapter ahead.

Blaze, Sophia & Reggie — we hope your forever is everything you’ve been waiting for!

OUR RESCUE FAMILY JUST GOT A LITTLE BIGGER…

We recently took in these 11 precious new pups, each arriving with their own story and all hoping for the same thing… a place to finally call home. 🏡

Right now, we have 47 incredible dogs searching for their forever families. Some have been waiting longer than they should. Some are just beginning their journey with us. But every single one deserves to know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and chosen.

Over the next several days, we’ll be introducing you to our 11 newest adoptable dogs, and we hope you’ll follow along, fall in love, and share their stories.

Maybe you aren’t able to adopt right now, but you may know someone who is. One share could be the reason a dog gets seen by the person they’ve been waiting for.

And every adoption does so much more than change one dog’s life. Every time one of our dogs finds their forever home, it opens a door for us to save another dog who is still waiting for a chance.

🐾 Today was disappointing for Briggs and for all of us at Adopt a Dog Rescue 😔

One of our favorite shelter dogs, Briggs was scheduled to be picked up for an in home pre-adoption trial. We prepared for his meet up and waited for his potential adopters to arrive… but they never showed up. No phone call. No text. No explanation.

We understand that life happens and circumstances can change. Sometimes people decide they are no longer ready to adopt, and that is okay. But please communicate with us.

When someone schedules a meet and greet, adoption appointment, or pre-adoption trial and simply doesn’t show up, it has a negative impact on our entire rescue. Our volunteers and fosters rearrange their schedules, transportation and staff time may be coordinated, and most importantly, our dogs and puppies are prepared for an opportunity that never happens.

Every appointment represents time, effort, and hope for a dog waiting for a loving home.

If your plans change or you decide adoption is not the right fit, please just let us know. A quick phone call or text is all it takes. We will always appreciate honesty and communication.

Please be respectful of our volunteers, fosters, and the precious dogs and puppies who are depending on us to help them find their forever homes. 🐾
