Arizona Beagle Rescue

Arizona Beagle Rescue Arizona Beagle Rescue (AZBR) is a statewide 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization. We do not have a facility of our own to board foster dogs.

Arizona Beagle Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt, tax-deductible organization operated by volunteers who are dedicated to the welfare of the Beagle breed. AZBR relies on donation to help with the medical needs of the dogs in our foster care (spay/neuter, dentals, heartworm treatment, valley fever treatment, orthopedic injuries, emergency surgery, etc). All dogs available for adoption are

in foster homes across the greater Phoenix area. AZBR now has an online store https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/34504196-az-beagle-rescue-logo?store_id=1889070 to order apparel, totes, phone cases, coffee mugs and so much more!

Adoptee - Benny
Adoptee Family: Dunn

Update:
Benny is one of the sweetest dogs I have met. He fits perfectly in my home and he brings so much joy and happiness with his zest for life. Benny has adjusted well to his surroundings and a consistent routine. He fits in very well in my home and all the neighbors love to see him on his daily walks around the neighborhood. Benny loves his walks to sniff & explore and greet the neighbors as he is a very social dog who loves people and loves to be the center of attention. Benny is very affectionate and he loves to sit next to me or climb into my lap for cuddles. He gives the best eye hugs with his soft loving gaze - it just melts my heart! Benny has happily found his forever home thanks to the kind volunteers at the AZBR!

Today is June 29th and we are less than a week from July 4th. While we love the holiday, many of our pups do not!

Before July 4th (now!):
šŸ·ļø Make sure their ID tags and microchip information are up to date. If you don't have an ID tag, use a Sharpie to put a cell phone number on the collar.

šŸŽ† **Keep Your Pup Safe This Fourth of July! šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ¾**

ā¤ļø Keep your dog indoors in a quiet, secure room.
šŸŽµ Turn on calming music or the TV to help mask fireworks.
🚪 Keep doors, gates, and windows securely closed—frightened dogs can escape in seconds.
🦓 Offer a favorite toy, puzzle, or treat to help distract them. Work on some mental stimulation or training in short chunks throughout the day to wear out their brains prior to fireworks!
🚫 Never bring your dog to fireworks displays.
šŸ” Keep holiday foods, alcohol, glow sticks, and fireworks out of reach.

Every year, shelters see an increase in lost pets around the Fourth of July. A little preparation can make all the difference.

If you find a lost pet, check for ID tags, have them scanned for a microchip at a local veterinary clinic or shelter, and share clear photos and the location where they were found.

Let's make this Independence Day safe for every furry family member. ā¤ļøšŸ¶

Meet Charlee!!

A 13-year-old sweetheart with a heart as big as his adorable floppy ears. While he’s blind, don’t let that fool you—Charlee confidently knows his route around the house, has learned the dog door and loves the simple joys in life: a cozy dog bed (or even better, the couch!), tasty wet food, and spending time with his people.

Charlee gets along well with other dogs but prefers to enjoy his meals separately so he can take his time. He walks nicely on a leash and happily joins you for strolls, though in unfamiliar places he may occasionally bump into things. Because he can’t see, he’ll need a home without an unfenced pool and if around a pool he needs to be safely on a leash with his person.

He’s a gentleman for baths and brushing (although he’d rather you skip brushing his sore hips if possible!). His blood pressure is well controlled with medication, and he also takes a joint supplement, CBD, and an anti-inflammatory to keep him feeling comfortable. He can still hop on and off the couch by himself and is happiest curled up beside you for a nap.

Charlee isn’t much of a fan of car rides, but once he’s home, he’s content to soak up all the love and comfort you have to offer.

If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will reward your kindness with endless love, Charlee is ready to spend his golden years by your side.

Incoming beagle alert!

Meet Masha, 1-2 year old female beagle mix. She will be available for adoption soon. She needs vetting (spay, vaccines, microchip).

** If you are an approved adopter (or foster!) and interested in Masha, please let us know at [email protected]

** If you have not yet been approved to adopt (or foster!), please complete an application at https://azbeaglerescue.com/adopt/adoption-process

What we know about Masha from her current foster:

- very sweet and friendly, likes everyone
- she is very active and busy (needs exercise and mental stimulation)
- is a very frequent counter surfer. (Poor house manners in general, I wonder if she was kept as a breeding dog outside)
- she is a chewer (chewed a leash and a charger when I wasn’t watching )
- she is very opportunistic with food; not food aggressive I don’t think... just will try to take other dogs’ food even if they growl at her
- she hasn’t tried to escape our block wall yard, but is a flight risk near doors

Several people have reached out asking if we have tshirts for sale. We do not have any apparel for sale so anything you are seeing on social media is not through Arizona Beagle Rescue.

Our most immediate need at the moment is foster homes. We have a senior as well as several other dogs that are needing placement (currently awaiting more information from owners).

If you are available to foster, please email [email protected] if you are an approved foster.

If interested in becoming a foster, please fill out the application here: https://azbeaglerescue.com/volunteer/fostering-with-azbr

Thank you in advance!

Since we have no shelter of our own, we rely on loving people to take in rescued dogs and care for them until the dog can be matched with a family.
