Nydia Han is one of Philadelphia’s most trusted storytellers and one of the strongest advocates for representation in our city.

At our inaugural benefit reception, we were proud to honor her with the first Philadelphia Icon Award in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to journalism, community leadership, and the visibility of AANHPI voices. Through her work as an Emmy Award-winning journalist, creator of , and dedicated advocate, Nydia has consistently used her platform to tell stories with honesty, compassion, and purpose. She reminds us that representation matters, but that it is only the beginning of creating understanding, opportunity, and lasting change.

At the Philadelphia Asian American Film Foundation, we believe in celebrating the people who help shape the cultural fabric of our city. Nydia’s impact reaches far beyond the newsroom, and we are honored to recognize her legacy, leadership, and commitment to uplifting others.
