We’re honored to share that the Philadelphia Asian American Film Foundation has received two grants from the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, including a FY26 General Operating Support grant and a 2026 Community Impact Grant powered by the William Penn Foundation.
These investments strengthen our ability to champion Asian American storytelling, support filmmakers, and create meaningful cultural experiences for communities across Philadelphia.

At a time when diverse voices are being suppressed and parts of our history are being erased, organizations like the Philadelphia Asian American Film Foundation exist to ensure our collective stories are protected, nurtured, preserved, and amplified.

Through film, we celebrate the richness of our communities, uplift the next generation of storytellers, and create space for voices that deserve to be seen and heard.

As our Executive Director, Nani Shin, reminds us, our stories matter. And we remain committed to making sure they continue to be told.

commencement week 🎓 is over. But before that, during finals week, PAAFF and Drexel University - DISHA brought the stars of —Saagar Shaikh and Asif Ali (whose character is a Drexel alum)—to talk to Drexel students on campus. To their surprise, Drexel students are not only studious and smart, but they dish it out strong opposite these comedic pros. 😂 💯

Nydia Han is one of Philadelphia’s most trusted storytellers and one of the strongest advocates for representation in our city.

At our inaugural benefit reception, we were proud to honor her with the first Philadelphia Icon Award in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to journalism, community leadership, and the visibility of AANHPI voices. Through her work as an Emmy Award-winning journalist, creator of , and dedicated advocate, Nydia has consistently used her platform to tell stories with honesty, compassion, and purpose. She reminds us that representation matters, but that it is only the beginning of creating understanding, opportunity, and lasting change.

At the Philadelphia Asian American Film Foundation, we believe in celebrating the people who help shape the cultural fabric of our city. Nydia’s impact reaches far beyond the newsroom, and we are honored to recognize her legacy, leadership, and commitment to uplifting others.
