Hosted by founder John Aivazoglou and the Hellenic Hearts board, the outing blended spirited play with a strong sense of community as teams moved through the course and later gathered at the clubhouse for remarks and thanks.

Hellenic Hearts brought its Gala weekend to a close with a June 1 golf outing at Huntingdon Valley Country Club, supporting scholarships, mentorship, and emergency assistance.

The Wilmington Greek Festival is in full swing at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, with food, music, dancing, and the warm welcome that has made it a Wilmington summer tradition.

We spent time on the festival grounds and captured moments that give the celebration its character, from youth dancers taking the stage to volunteers serving meals and families gathering around the tables.

See the full photo gallery, watch our video, and read the story at the link below. The festival continues through Saturday, June 6.

A century of memory, faith, and vision in one conversation: at 101 years young, Nickolas Jekogian reflects on how the Greek-American community in Philadelphia grew from its early days into the vibrant presence we know today, and what that journey means for our future.

Here’s a look back at one of the powerful stories captured through the Society of Philadelphia’s Interview Series—an ongoing project preserving the voices of those who helped build our community so future generations can see where we came from and how we’ve contributed to American society. Nickolas Jekogian is one hundred and one years young. A witness to the expanding Greek-American community that started in Philadelphia, and over the years, headed west to the suburbs. He has served his country in WWII, was a founder of the Greek Boy Scout Troop 302 at St. Demetrios, and was a member...

The Fall of Constantinople is no longer a living political question for most Greeks. But May 29 still carries a powerful mix of history, Orthodoxy, language, lament and myth, football culture, travel hesitation, and inherited memory.

May 29 is not a Greek holiday, but the Fall of Constantinople still lives in the modern Greek mind through language, Orthodoxy, lament, myth, refugee memory, football culture, and the enduring idea of η Πόλη.

For the Greek American VFW Post Eleftheria, the annual gathering at Fernwood remains one of the ways the post keeps faith with the Greek American veterans whose names are tied to the monument and the community around it.

Greek American VFW Post Eleftheria held its Memorial Day service at Fernwood Cemetery in Lansdowne, honoring fallen veterans and recognizing Georgia Chletcos as Post Advocate of the Year.

For Greek Americans across greater Philadelphia and beyond, places like Giota’s are more than neighborhood businesses. They are extensions of home, where language, music, memory, and hospitality survive in everyday rituals.

Giota’s West End Hairstyling and Barbershop in Media, Pennsylvania, will close May 30 after 36 years, ending a quiet Greek-American landmark shaped by Giota and Foti Hartas.
