The Magic Yarn Project is the original and largest volunteer-run non-profit organization that makes and sends whimsical princess yarn wigs and superhero beanies free of charge to children around the world who are battling cancer. Chemotherapy treatments often leave skin too tender and sensitive to tolerate wearing traditional wigs, but Magic Yarn wigs are soft and giggle-inducing and invite children back into the world of imagination and play during a very difficult time. Please join us on our mission to bring magic to children battling cancer and to inspire volunteerism to help make a difference.

We are thrilled to announce that our organization has been awarded a $1️⃣3️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ grant from the Dunkin' Joy In Childhood Foundation, enabling us to create over 500 whimsical yarn wigs for children battling cancer and other forms of medical-related hair loss. We are deeply grateful for the significant impact this gift will have on the lives of the children we serve, and for the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation's commitment to partnering with nonprofits nationwide to bring joy to children. ✨ Ever wonder how a Magic Yarn Project
wig comes to life? ✨

It starts with something simple: a skein of yarn, a crochet hook, and a whole lot of heart.

From crocheting each cozy beanie, to carefully cutting the yarn, to hand-attaching every strand of "hair,” our volunteers turn ordinary materials into something extraordinary — a magical wig made to bring joy, confidence, and a little bit of magic to a child facing cancer.

Because behind every wig is a community of people who believe that even in the hardest moments, every child deserves to feel like a princess, superhero, or whatever makes them feel magical. 💫

A magical day of service! 💫

Thank you to the Saddle Rock Ward in Aurora, Colorado for choosing the Magic Yarn Project for a Day of Service.

Volunteers came together to cut 56 skeins of yarn, donate 27 uncut skeins, and attach yarn “hair” to help create 11 Elsa & Rapunzel wigs. Thank you for spending your time bringing joy to children facing medical hair loss in your communities. 💜💛

A special thank you to Cathryn and Robbin for assisting Chapter Leader, Amy Droste on this magical day. ✨
