Join NGLCC - The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce & The Pride Chamber at the upcoming October Sip & Pitch on October 29 at 3:30 PM ET! This special edition will highlight businesses in the Own It! Program, a virtual entrepreneurial intensive designed for transgender, gender expansive (TGX) and allied new and aspiring business owners to bring their entrepreneurial plans to fruition. Own It! is co-created and maintained by nglccNY, TD Bank, and Destination Tomorrow.

Sip & Pitch is a virtual event where LGBTQ+ and allied suppliers pitch their businesses to a panel of experts and corporate partners for feedback in a fun, informal setting. It’s a great way to discover new businesses, offer insights, and build meaningful connections.

🌈✨ CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Orlando Gay Chorus✨🌈

We’re excited to celebrate some big news from our Chamber member, Orlando Gay Chorus (OGC)! 🎶

OGC has announced Dr. L. Fabián González as its newest Artistic Director, following a nationwide search. Dr. González will become the organization’s 13th Artistic Director, continuing OGC’s incredible legacy of more than 36 years of musical excellence and LGBTQ+ community connection.

With a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from Louisiana State University and extensive experience working with collegiate, community, opera, and symphonic choruses, Dr. González brings a wealth of experience and a passion for creating meaningful musical experiences.

We’re especially excited to see the next chapter of OGC’s artistic vision and the continued impact they have on the LGBTQ+ arts and cultural community here in Central Florida. 🏳️‍🌈🎶

Congratulations to Dr. González and the Orlando Gay Chorus on this exciting new chapter! We’re proud to have you as part of The Pride Chamber community!

The Pride Chamber’s AgeFWD Group was proud to be part of an important conversation with Hope & Help focused on LGBTQ+ aging, healthcare, and whole-person care.

One of the key takeaways from the discussion was that affirming care is preventative care. When individuals feel respected, welcomed, and safe in healthcare environments, they are more likely to seek care, participate in preventive screenings and vaccinations, communicate openly with providers, and address health concerns earlier.

The conversation also highlighted the importance of:

• Creating inclusive and visibly welcoming care environments
• Respecting each individual’s identity, privacy, and dignity
• Recognizing chosen family and the support systems individuals rely on
• Building relationships between healthcare providers and LGBTQ+ community organizations
• Understanding how previous negative experiences can influence future healthcare decisions
• Taking a whole-person approach that considers physical, emotional, mental, social, and community well-being

As the LGBTQ+ population continues to age, there is an opportunity for healthcare providers, long-term care organizations, financial professionals, estate planners, and community organizations to work together to create stronger, more inclusive systems of support.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to age with dignity, security, choice, and connection.
